Paysite Content Rotation?
Couple of questions/thoughts for you guys!
I run a membership paysite and am experiencing a real issue that I get sign ups - which allow that new member access to all of the content on the site - to which they download/view whatever they want - and then cancel their subscription. This has left me reluctant to regularly update the site as I feel as though I am giving away my content for peanuts!...although I do know that a site should ideally be updated x3 a week. The clients clearly enjoy what I offer as they will sign up again in 6months time but again download and cancel. So my feeling is to rotate the existing content somehow so that new members only get access to the first 3 months worth of content, for example, so there is an incentive to remain a member? What do you other paysite owners do to help prevent this happening? |

How much content do you have on your site? We used to see the same trend on our sites, but never wanted to go on the "rotation road". We kept adding and adding and adding new content (ofc it has to be economically sustainable for you).
Now that we update our main sites 2 times a week and that our content grows, we see more and more rebills. You need content, you need good content, and you need a lot of it. Also adding features to your members area surely help in keeping them in there (favourite models, favourite sets, vote for this, vote for that, chat, forum, live feeds, etc. etc.). Of course just my opinion...but unless it's a site you don't plan to invest anymore into...i wouldn't really go for the rotation of content.

Free Content ???? Suggestion
We've have so much content and it seems that the previous owner of our company had leaked most of the old content and no one wants to buy the old content. Since taking over Tsar we've been focusing on putting NEW content out for our viewers. I do believe you have to give a little to get members, but I will NOT give NEW material for FREE.
The only thing I could suggest is perhaps limit so much FREE content and make your NEW material they must pay for some how ... Perhaps make your site only a members site and if they buy a certain membership package they can review the newer content and restrict down load for a certain time frame. Just a suggestion |
