I am still a noob but getting really comfortable with php/sql/html/design and that aspect.. the only problem I still really have is getting decent traffic. I have been lucky enough to have a few sites that get great google rankings on keywords but it seems like a shot in the dark for me. And the only way I could get traffic otherwise was to whore my site out to submit sites and have tons of links on my site. So pretty much i was just acting as a hub for traffic in and traffic out. I want to keep more traffic or at least direct it to the sponsors I am promoting.

So now to my question...

I was wondering if there were ways of getting traffic in a unique manner.. I was reading about commenting on adult social networking sites.. but that seems spammy to me and I think sponsors will ban you for that. Does anyone have any ways to get your site out there with unique marketing? I don't have the money to just dump into buying traffic either.. I am feeling stuck here.

Thanks for anyone who can help direct me a little better.. I really want to work and succeed but I can't even really grasp a game plan with this..

I am not sure about how networks feel about commenting etc, and I don't run any adult sites myself, but the best way I've had sites rank for keywords I wanted was too submit articles, setup web2.0 sites and provide content on my site with keywords as the anchor text etc. Obviously I can see that article sites might not appreciate you linking to a hardcore site and this would depend on the exact content of yoru site. Are you looking to rank for keywords in the SERPs to get traffic, or? Other than putting links on your site to others, what do you currently do?

I am not in the adult industry but would you be able to create your own blog linking to your site? Finding new strategies to increase one's Google ratings will help increase the traffic to your site.

This way you can include content for SEO purposes and as well link to send your traffic directly to your own site. Every article (content) you post is bait for web spiders; the more content, the more frequent visits the spider will schedule to make which in turn increases your Google rank.

yeah right now I have a site that isn't a blog.. it is dvd store (see sig) I think the only way I can actually get half decent traffic to it w/out buying is to just develop a blog network that gets google traffic (and maybe even some submit galleries for traffic) and then either have a link for my DVD site or maybe even pop-under it..
