I pop in here from time to time whenever the fuck I feel like it. Get off my dick.

+1 for Tebow

-1 for Andy Reid fucking up Michael Vick

Two quarterbacks that are unconventional, yet that is their biggest strength... Sad to see Vick having his quality play fucked up by being told to play more like other conventional quarterbacks... Especially when the vast majority of them have never even been to the Super Bowl.

Give him time. He's only started 8 games. At UF he threw for 9,285 yards and 88 touchdowns.

This isn't College football.

There is not a single NFL analyst I've heard say that Tebow will be a successful NFL quarterback. On the other hand, there isn't a single NFL analyst that doesn't respect what he brings to the table in terms of running ability, inspiration, inner strength etc. But when his teammates see that he can't win every game on inspiration alone, they WILL start to lose faith in him as well. That is when he'll ultimately fail.

Tebow will at BEST be a .500 quarterback. In two years MAX he'll be a backup or the starter on a bad and/or desperate team. In four or five years, he'll be in the booth as one of the more entertaining analysts himself.

It's hard not to like the guy regardless of his anti-choice stance, but it's easy to say (and shows stats WHY) he'll never be a long term success in the NFL.

Just stopping by to put another check in the win column :)

When the Dolphins beat the Raiders this weekend and Broncos win again they just might make the playoffs :winkwink:

I think the Fins will win too. As far as tebow goes, he will not go very far if he can't throw. Any team that can score more than 20 ppg will beat them. That is about 40% of the NFL.
Jesus...

How do you know Tebow is asking God specifically for a win?

I know many athletes pray to God simply to play their best.

TCLGirls 12-01-2011 12:51 AM

So-called NFL "experts" were the same ones who were falling all over themselves in praising JaMarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Joey Harrington, Rick Mirer, etc

I don't know specifically. However, is he really that unrealistic to think that god is helping him win or lose, or play his best in a direct or even indirect way? I think is is delusional thinking IMO.

If one believes in a God, then why is it unrealistic to ask God for help for the strength to perform at one's best? I can see how it would be unrealistic to ask God for a win, because it necessarily means you are also asking God to make the other team lose. But to simply ask God for the strength to play at your best seems realistic to me (assuming one believes in a God in the first place).

that was truly nuts...you start thinking maybe the hand of god is up there, although for this game the kicker was the star with 2 crucial FG's.

Bears must be reeling.

If I were you I would be careful, or you call forth the wrath of TEBOW!!

justinsain 12-11-2011 06:02 PM

It wasn't televised in my area so I had to listen to the radio broadcast. :Oh crap

Denver got a few key breaks like the other team running out of bounds to stop the clock essentially giving Denver enough time to score the tie and the fumble that gave them the chance to drive and score the winning FG. About the only thing that didn't go their way was recovering the onside kick which sounded like they had a great opportunity to do.

I'm trying to figure out why they play so slow in the first three quarters and I wonder if the coaches intentionally hold Tebow back in an effort to keep him from making any game costing mistakes. Let the defense do most of the work and keep the scoring low. By the time the fourth quarter comes around they've had to play catch up and get more aggressive with the play calls. So far its worked in their favor.

The football this year has been pretty exciting from all the teams and the playoff run to the Superbowl is going to be crazy.

Yeah, all barber had to do was stay in bounds and the game is over, denver couldn't stop the clock. Then in o.t. barber fumbles and gives the ball back to denver!!
Let's not forget the field goal kicker....57 and 51 yds!!

FG kicker won that game, Tebow woke up in the 4th but making two 50 plus FG's in a row in the clutch is truly great. They need to keep that kicker around.

So Barber ran out of bounds on his own? ( couldn't tell on radio )

Denver must be going nuts!

I live in Orlando and our only sports Franchise is the Magic. We are about to lose our superstar center and spend the next five years sucking.

The guy that caused the fumble played a huge part.

After going 3 and out so many time, the fact the offense stepped it up to get a few first downs and into field goal range twice, played a huge part.

So much had to happen for Denver to win I don't think you can give the credit to one player.
It was truly a remarkable team effort.

Yeah, it was unbelievable. All he had to do was take the hand off, and run up the middle. He decides to head towards the sideline and runs out of bounds!

He's 7 and 1 since becoming QB.

And the Bears covered the spread, that's all that counts.

The game was televised where I live. Barber ran out of bounds on his own. Had he slid down and stayed in bounds the game would have been over.

That brain fart gave Denver enough time to tie the game.

Bears get first possession in overtime and drive into field goal range.

In an attempt to get just a little bit closer Barber hits the hole and thinks he's going to score and gets stripped from behind and Denver recovers.

Denver then drives to get the winning FG.

justinsain awards Barber MVP :)

I don't get it - why can't he play to that same level in the first 3 quarters? It's an amazing story, like out of a movie.

But to put it into perspective, imagine if Tebow was on the Buffalo Bills, who have no defense at all. What if Tebow was quarterbacking a team that was down 14 points in the first quarter, 21 points at halftime? The Denver defense is making his 4th quarter heroics possible.

But what you see in the 4th quarter does make you think that the experts were wrong and that he can play QB in the NFL, maybe eventually a top one, he'll never be a great passer, but he could be a very good QB if he just becomes a decent passer. I wonder what he will be in 3 years, 5 years.

I think the coaches keep him on a tight leash for most of the game. He still has a lot to learn and gains valuable experience with every game. QBs like Brady and Rogers can be left to do what they do and its amazing to watch them.

My guess is the coaches give Tebow a safe play and tell him to stick to it and not force anything that might create a turnover. They let the defense keep the score low and hope to get just a little more than the opponents while playing safe. His passing has improved even though the stats don't reflect it due to receivers dropping catchable balls like the one yesterday that would have been an easy TD.

Tebow has performed very well in the fourth quarter and its been exciting to watch. My prediction is they will stay with this strategy for the rest of their season and next year they will loosen the leash on Tebow as he grows into his position.

Next Sunday they play the Pats and most likely will have to play more aggressive earlier.

You're right that it plays out like a movie. I saw that commercial he has with the sports drink for the first time last night and it made me smile. Something tells me they may have to add to it at the end of the season.

Giants vs Cowboys last night was an awesome game too. So much great football right now and it really makes the NBA look like a bunch of clowns.

CDSmith 12-12-2011 10:06 AM

Coach needs to hire a hypnotist to make Tebow believe that EVERY quarter is the 4th.

Then they'd be able to cover the damn spread.

JP-pornshooter 12-12-2011 12:35 PM

defense and their kicker won that game for yesterday, i wouldnt give Tebow much credit for the win.

Bryan G 12-12-2011 01:32 PM

raymor 12-12-2011 01:47 PM

You really can't argue work the simple fact of winning every game after his first start. Comparing to a superstar at the same point in his pro career, Tebow > Elway.

VikingMan 12-12-2011 01:50 PM

His pastor just came out and publicly stated that Tebow is winning because God wants him to win. You know what that means......Broncos will lose the next game :1orglaugh

Mutt 12-12-2011 02:21 PM

Colin Cowherd today said what I think is true - the reason Tebow starts completing passes in the 4th quarter is that teams are up on the Broncos every week, 10 points or better. So they do the stupidest thing in football and I never understand why coaches do it, it backfires more than I see it work - the prevent defense, which is all about not giving up quick deep touchdowns. This plays right into Tebow's hands, the defense allows short passes and runs as they have their secondary hanging back protecting against the deep ball. Tebow gains confidence.

I'm rooting for the guy.

justinsain 12-12-2011 02:33 PM

I don't get the prevent defense either. Especially when all the opposing team needs is to get into field goal range.

For three quarters the Bears made them go 3 and out and then switched to prevent which allowed Denver to drive for a TD and the winning field goal. :upsidedow

I also hate when the winning team lays down playing super conservative often going 3 and out and relying on their defense to stop them. I say play like they did the whole time and try hard to get first downs to keep ball possession. The opposing team cannot score as long as they keep possession.
