Tebow is on fire :winkwink:

I can't wait until next weekend when all of the fair weather bandwagoners who don't even watch football fall off the face of the earth when Tebow plays poorly, (as they did during the last 3 weeks of the regular season). He completed some GREAT passes yesterday, but so does every QB in this league. When your receivers are wide open and run the length of the field after a small reception it makes it a tad easier. He still is EXACTLY what he was 1 week ago, mediocre at best. Those of you who think he's all of sudden going to start throwing perfect accurate spirals / bullets, LOL. That's how he's thrown the ball since middle school, he's been around and he's worked on his dynamics A LOT. He has the potential to improve but he will NEVER be anything more than average as a starting QB, (although I'd say he has the potential to be a pro bowler full back). Go look at rookies with potential, they have the ground work, but are obviously rough around the edges. They don't throw wobbly throws missing their receivers by a mile over 50% of the time. Tebow isn't even a frickin rookie, he was around last season and spent the entire off season working on his dynamics to play starting QB. I feel bad for Bronco fans, they'll stick with Tebow and waste the next 2-3 seasons before realizing what a lot of us knew all along. |

maybe there's somebody else who took over his act but the original died long ago. |
it's a great story, i watch Bronco games just because of him as i'm sure so do millions of others.
this is like a Hollywood movie, Rudy-esque, almost nobody thought Tebow had a chance to be a starting QB in the NFL and most still don't. Meanwhile here is with a playoff victory under his belt. He's a kid still, who's to say with more experience and coaching he can't develop into a good passer, he'll never be John Elway or Peyton Manning but his intangibles are off the chart and he will always be a threat to run as long as he doesn't sustain major leg injuries. Elway is going to tutor him this summer himself, because of the lockout this past summer he couldn't do that before this season. I've seen Tebow be so brutal it seems impossible he could ever be good let alone great. Time will tell.......... actually Tim Tebow will tell. We may doubt him, one thing I know, he has absolutely no doubts in himself. Super religious people are a bit scary. |

The Broncos as a team had a great run, especially considering their circumstances. Tebow has played like every mediocre QB in this league, but he has a great attitude and everyone around him played better because of it. You want to watch a rookie with promising potential, go watch Cam Newton play. As a QB that can improve he makes Tebow's level of QB play look like a complete joke. It's too bad his team had the worst defense in the NFL and no running game. |

Marino has said many times he would gladly trade his records for a Super Bowl ring. Race car drivers say they don't care how many laps they've led they just want to lead the last one. The ultimate goal in football is to win the Super Bowl. This weekend 8 starting QBs have the opportunity to advance towards the Super Bowl and 24 QB's season has already ended. Tebow is one of those 8 that still has the chance to win it all. That point right there makes him above average from at least one perspective. So what if Denver loses to NE. Their season has far outreached their own expectations and Tebow has performed beyond most everyone expectations. Everything post season has been a bonus. Tebow continues to improve. If Denver beats NE this weekend then what. Blame the loss on Brady having a headache and then go on to claim Denver will never win an AFC Championship with Tebow as QB. |
Quote:
I predict that the win over the Steelers has sealed it, Tebow will be their starter next season. If they have enough of a winning season next year to make the playoffs, whether they win the rings or not he'll be back the season after that. Am I a Tebow fanatic? No. I'm a lover of the game, a near lifelong Niner fan, and am someone who can see the writing on the wall and spot potential when I see it. Like it or not, the guy has potential. His religious outbursts and outspokenness on his beliefs are irrelevant. He's helped turn what would have been a horrific losing season into them being two games away from the SB. I suspect that even if he and his cohorts play well enough to win it all his haters will still find some way to justify their argument that he sucks. 2 superbowls? No no, he still sucks, here's why... 3? 4? I wonder how many superbowls Tebow'd have to win to shut you fellers up. :D @NE will be a good game. They likely will get slaughtered but I think it's already a done deal that he's their guy going forward. You guys will just have to find a way to suck it up. |

Can he consistently fit the ball into tight windows? Can he throw an accurate bullet? Can he step up and throw under heavy pressure? Can he hit receivers in coverage? What can he do? Oh, complete passes to wide open receivers in busted coverage against unhealthy teams playing like garbage every once in awhile. Bravo, that's the next Joe Montana, Tom Brady in the making. I'm sorry, but anyone who sees potential is seeing something else, not attributes of a great QB in the making. He's the next Colt McCoy, Curtis Painter, Sam Bradford, Tarvaris Jackson. All mediocre QBs who make big plays every so often, people just don't celebrate their mediocrity and prop up every little pass they complete as greatness or a miracle. |
Quote:
His passing game took longer to develop, and still has a long way to go yet, but it too has improved. Yes he very much can hit the deep ball with pinpoint window accuracy. Not yet with consistancy, but in time he just might. He's done it on several plays, just look back over the highlights of their 9 winning games with unbiased eyes and you'll spot them. Bottom line is I see some potential. His players see it. His coaches see it. Their entire front office sees it. Elway sees it. The NFL Network analysts see it. ESPN sees it. TSN & Sportsnet see it. Bronco nation sees it. Hell even Brady sees it. If *YOU* don't see I suppose I'll have to find it in my soul to deal with it. :D |
Pats 38 - Broncos 17
|
Spread on this game is -13.5* NE, if anyone's betting.

Tebow fans were strikingly quiet after throwing a whole 60 yards, one interception, one lost fumble, and barely 3 points against a lowly Chiefs two weeks ago. :1orglaugh
I'm not sure what the big shock here is, Roethlisberger could barely walk during the game and yet still managed to stay in the game and bring it into overtime. This is starting to remind me of McDaniels first season 3 years ago here in Denver, went 6-0 with Orton and everyone thought McDaniels was some sort of genius, look how that turned out. But just as that prolonged having the worse head coach in the league, this will prolong the Broncos pursuing a decent QB. Gotta love the hype of the band wagoners. The top story on The Denver Post all day yesterday? '16 Year Old Girls Heart Races a Million Miles a Minute Meeting Tebow'. Give me a fucking break. |

Speaking of his passing game, do any of you happen to know WHY he was able to put up over 300 yds against Pittsburgh and nail those long key strikes that won the game? I'll tell you why. Because the Steeler defense played to stop the Broncos running game which left the Denver WRs with single coverage, sometimes no coverage. Why did they do this? One word... TEBOW. Without his penchant for running the ball where other QB's wouldn't none of this would have happened.
You naysayers won't hear of it of course, but the fact is if he continues to show improvement and he gels with his WRs and the rest of his offense he's going to present a real conundrum for opponents for some time to come. I know it's unfathomable but if they beat NE this Saturday the world will shake (from the sound of 100 million angels singing no doubt). At -13.5 for a spread, put $500 on Denver and see what it nets you. :D |
Quote:
And those throws he made, albeit single coverage, were great. Double coverage is actually overrated, but that's for another day. |
Quote:
Its called being one dimensional, and its not a good thing. :1orglaugh He had 1 good quarter out of 4. You guys seem to be ignoring the fact that Tebow was just about to be taken out of the starting lineup before this game, thats how good he is. |

You got anything else? |

Denver has a great D. It'll be interesting to see if they can get at Brady on Saturday and shut down some of his massive scoring potential. NE on the other hand has a rather piss-poor D, thus it will be equally interesting to see if Tebow's "I might run but I might throw no wait I might hand it off HA fooled you" style of play nets them enough points to make it a game. If they do then no doubt the haters will seethe. :D |
Quote:
WTF? Was this the only Bronco game you've watched? He leads the league in 3 and outs, leads the league in QB turnovers, is dead last in completion percentage, and is dead last in avg yards per completion. He beat an injured Steelers team at home, quit acting like he's the next Joe Montana. |
Troy Aikman #1 overall draft selection was 0-11 with twice the amount of interceptions to touchdowns his first year. Just saying.

Tebow
I am just glad I am not him - blows to be damned if you do damned if you don't - double damned if your half ass or have a bad game......
hold on a second - I wish I were him......the money, the chicks, the drugs...oh sorry forgot on team christian you can't have fun like that....well except for the money as long as you give it all to some fancy preacher |

Yes, he's all the things you say he is, yet there they are a win into the playoffs and heading to the div game, something no one saw in their future back in week 5. Baffling isn't it? I know, I'm as baffled by it as anyone. But I'm not so blind as to not see the why of it. Some of it of course due to dumb luck, but I highly doubt their 7 game winning streak would have happened without Reverend Tebow, fuckups, horrible throws, bad stats and all. |

LOL,
So now Tebow takes the credit for the Denver running game? I would say Mcgahee helped a little ;) Cant wait until the Pats pummel the Broncos so I can stop hearing about this clown. |

I doubt you clowns will stop hearing about that clown for the forseeable future. That lowly win over the injured Steelers pretty much sank your hopes. You might get a respite for a few months, maybe in late spring, then come next July-Aug he'll be all over the sports channels again.
And your lives will go back to being hell. :D |

In all seriousness, watching play really is hard on the eyes. Go Niners ;) |

The guy has a great attitude, he plays with a ton of heart, he's a good rusher and he's a leader that makes others play around him better. He will NEVER be anything more than average when it comes to throwing the ball though. Sorry if the truth hurts, throwing a wobbly ball that misses receivers by a mile over 50% of the time doesn't indicate potential. :1orglaugh |

He's gone from absolutely pathetically horrible to just barely mediocre. BTW, YAC is a great thing. Pretty sweet when you run 40-50 yards after every completion in busted coverage. He only completed 10 passes. |

I've really been routing for Tebow to do good... He had some decent throws last weekend and I almost started to believe he has an arm. But after tonight against the Pats...I gotta say, he's one of the worst passers I have ever seen start an NFL game.
|
NASCAR season began this weekend so I quit watching football.
What happened? |
Happy to see Tebow getting tebagged and teabowned by a real QB. Now maybe all the weird fundie cultists will quiet down for a while, at least while they try to figure out what excuses they are going to use to explain why the suppposed chosen golden boy was abandoned by his imaginary friend that apparently loves him so much.
All the showy posing, tebowing, and genuflecting for the camera can't cover up the fact he's not even an average QB. If the Broncos had a REAL QB, they might have gone all the way this year. It was the rest of the team made Tebow look good, NOT the other way around. |
