It is POSSIBLE to be convicted, and I'm sure it happens, based on only one witness (the victim) and nothing else but it's certainly not the norm. More often than not there's some physical evidence, prior history, etc.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that you must have been accused of something you didn't do because you seem very personally invested in this point of view. This isn't the first time you've said something along these lines.

I am very vocal about what has happened to me. I was accused of hitting a girl the night of my brother's wedding. I was the best man and had my pick of the bridesmaids. They all wanted to fuck me because of course my brother was off the market and I was his brother so..... you know basic human psychology. Anyway I picked one girl and we got a hotel room. She had a physical condition that prevented her from having sex. She cried. I comforted her. Instead of going back to the party and picking another girl I was a total gentleman and stayed with her and watched a movie. A few days later she accused me of hitting her. The police never got involved but my brother, his wife, and myself and my family had to go an entire year totally embarrassed by this accusation. Eventually my abuser (yes it is abusive when women falsely accuse a man) falsely accused several other guys of doing similar things and it became obvious to everyone including her friends and family that she was just doing this for attention. But because she was a female and I am male her word meant more than mine and even my own family doubted me for a long time until the truth came out. Men are second class citizens and are abusers while women always tell the truth and are victims.
Some other dumb cunt called CPS on me when my kid was 10 months old but that was cleared up really fast. The CPS case worker knew it was bogus and says it happens all the time. Abusive people use CPS to get back at people who are parents because anyone can make a false claim and remain completely antonymous. It is a completely legal way to abuse a parent and a child. Yes false allegations to CPS is abusive toward the parent and is abusive to the child.
Also someone called the cops because they thought I was kidnapping a small child. The child was my own child. The cop was super cool and felt bad for stopping me and I was cool to the cop and felt bad for him as well. But of course it was some fucking busy body cunt who of course thinks that men are automatic dangers to small children. It was all cleared up in about 10 minutes and we were on our way.
I am an amazing father and very devoted to my kid. I am offended when anyone thinks I am a danger in any way to a child. I get extra scrutiny out in public and when picking up and dropping my kid off from school especially when I drive my truck. Men are considered potential predators and abusers until proven otherwise. I get in people's faces when they treat me that way. I can tell I also get extra scrutiny at playgrounds.
The other day I was at a store and some dumb cunt walks up to my kid (while I was 3 or 4 feet away) and puts her hand on my kid's shoulder and begins asking the women around if the kid belongs to them. The dumb cunt then looks at me and says "not your kid!". I took my kid's hand, stared the cunt in her face, and walked away. If I walked up to some woman's kid and put my hand on them then someone would call 911 and I would be arrested. But of course women have free reign with kids and need to "observe" and "chaperone" men with small children even when they are complete strangers.
My point is that men have been turned into 2nd class citizens where our word does not matter and we are considered automatic potential abusers and predators. And if a woman does accuse us then everyone piles on and considers us guilty.
