I've been around Paul at shows and sat at dinners with him at least twice at a show and he was pretty reserved. Almost seemed introverted and shy. After being around him in his own element, it was pretty clear that he knew he didn't possess the proper social skills to interact with others like a sane person. I get why people say "i know him and I like him" or "'ve met him and i liked him",... because he wasn't even close to himself at a show. He seemed like a fairly normal, quiet guy.

Something isn't right ... he must have been either going through a moderate to severe depression or just psychologically going off a cliff.

We left and he kept hitting me up to do it.We had no interest in dealing with him. I might have misspoke. What I was trying to say was I was watching this guy who was basically broke taking about how valuable his time was as a professional photographer and that he'd have his wife shoot it. What most don't know is that his wife actually shot a large part of the content he sold. He kept always giving examples "I pay a girl x, I shoot x sets, I sell then x times for x dollars - basically "I am not going to shoot anything for less than $4000 a day or something like that. And I am listening to him and you can plainly see he is broke and makes no money shooting at all. Remember, his business was dead soon after.

I was watching him get excited over a $10.00 sale.... But in the other thread, his defense in the end was "I just wasn't interested in doing business with you and that's why I can't remember you". Our agreement was $2600 per hole, would girls at a time. It wasn't too long after that he was begging for money on this forum.

I don't know his story exactly. I suspect that he got a few content orders in a short period of time and sold a bit online and was able to lease space he had. I think that about that same time, work for him completely dried up and he slowly coasted to a halt. But in his own mind (as he shoes on this forum), he thought he was a world champion photographer deserving $1000.00 plus per hour or something for his time.

Basically all he had to do was look over his shoulder and ask "Eva, do you remember these guys" if he couldn't remember. Instead he tried to act dumb, deny it and call me a liar, thinking I couldn't prove anything anyway. It was pretty funny when I found the pics

I like Paul but the thing I remember about his rants most was how he kept saying 'Content is King!' while others said 'Traffic is King!'. This really set him off and he started comparing everything to how things were in the seventies when, as a photographer, you could certainly make 5k a day or more. Shooting for Hustler or Oui or Juggs or whatever.

He took his experiences and pretended to know how to sell porn in 2012 (or whenever this was). Thing is, he had content (whoever shot it) so if I gave a fuck (and wanted the hassles, which I did not) I could've helped Paul re-brand his content and maybe sell his stuff. It wasn't terrible. It wasn't awe inspiring either. LOL

But then Paul went off the deep end. How much he needs to keep his little house in CZ afloat who knows but it can't be much compared to England or NYC (where I am). He could have easily made $1000+ a month selling his old shit IF he knew how to do it, or would listen to those who did know how. But sadly he wasn't really interested in that. Paul was mostly interested in being RIGHT - which is why it was so funny how wrong he was a lot of the times.

The analogy i used was basically like trying to deal with writers. They'll tell you how they earn $2.00 a word and are published in huge publications to create the impression that they are high paid and worth a lot and then neglect to mention that it only happened once and will never... ever happen again. Like someone that won at a casino, they conveniently forget about the massive losses... and talk about the win day and night.

I strongly suspect that he bullshitted his way into a few big content orders at the peak of the market, got ahead a little, leased an office, bought a car etc.. but that moment was both the start and end of his business as he just sold content here and there through his site and sloiwly coasted to a site, ending it all with his bargain content site and then ultimately trynig to license to tubes... then shutting it all down. He almost immediately started to launch adult sites (paulmarkhamteens.com) after he got online and tgps for trafic generation etc etc etc because he couldn't make much with content by selling it. Even though he was talking on forums like he was posting from his private island.

This is why towards the end of that village idiot thread, i was feeling a little weird about him and his replies. It seemed like he genuinely didn't recall anything. He's stubborn and insane... so it wasn't clear what was him just trying to deny, thinking nothing could be proven or whether or not he actually had some sort of issue recalling past events.. like maybe a stroke or series of mini strokes or some other issue affecting memory. It's easy to say "he could have simply asked Eva" but then again, if you are 100% sure an event never happened because you can't recall any aspect of it whatsoever, then you likely wouldn't ask.

I mean, he was asking around about who i was when i described everything in detail... even the interior of his own house... yet he apparently couldn't put it all together as if foreigners fly in from Russia all the time to talk biz, he shows them his operation, takes them on a photo shoot (a shoot which he fully recalled) and then he invites them to his home for dinner... and can't remember even one detail about them.

But with this thread, i started thinking about it again. Why was he having Eva and another assistant shoot most of his content in the last couple years of shooting? Particularly in a business that for him was in obvious, sharp decline and where he truly believed himself to be a genius and true artist and other Playboy/Penthouse photogs to be hacks.

I wonder now if something actually did happen like a stroke or series of stokes. His eyesight might have been failing him, he might have had tremors in his hands, different types of memory failing him etc. Thinking about it all, that makes a great deal more sense than anything he's said.

Well, you're likely not his brother because though Paul clearly thought he was the brains of the operation (as scary as that sounds) his brother was just cheap labor in his studio. Anyone i know that's dealt with his brother has characterized him as a complete prick. I on;y saw him fumbling around as cheap labor trying to build a tgp.

At the time, Paul hadn't shot in a couple years. He got throat cancer and had been bedridden. Fabian of Manwin came into the thread. Eventually he asked what it would take to get Paul back and shoot a scene for Manwin. Everyone was saying there was no way in a million years this shoot would happen. Things like "Paul would never shoot for Manwin" as he was their sworn enemy, "deal with the devil" - etc."Paul will take the money and run, lol" yada yada etc.

But as the thread progressed in became clear that this shoot was actually going to happen! Someone asked Paul to make sure he got good behind the scenes footage, I think as a joke, but it made me think about shooting this as a mini documentary. Kind of crazy-sounding, I know, but I was planning a trip to Europe anyway, and I suppose my 'filmmaker' instinct kicked in, and I was like, I gotta go to Brno and shoot this!
In retrospect, I'm very glad I did it, and look back fondly on the experience!
Would still love to turn it into a longer documentary piece someday by getting Fabian and DamianJ's interviews, but that probably won't happen.
