I generally run about 1 in 30 so from that many uniques I would have seen around 300 or so sign ups. But most of my traffic is SE traffic looking for cams. From my own experience and what I have seem others say, purchased traffic does not normally do well with cams. You might be able to do something with purchased traffic by filtering it down some and sending some to cams but other to paysites, whatever. I do not have personal experience but have been told that dating traffic does ok with cams also, Drexl, is it a WL you are sending to? If i was doing a WL I think I would probably set up a cam blog or a cam review site and use that for the SEs and send traffic from there to the cams. That way you have a chance of getting some ranking. Just my :2 cents: . |
Hits versus Uniques at CB
Quote:
The left 3 columns are from my hit counter in the database and the right 3 columns are a direct cut and paste from my CB stats. If you notice the hits count from CB tracks very closely to my unique count. The hit count column on the left is the actual number of hits I sent. The main differences between the 2 counts are because my counter is 24 hours based on my server time which is an hour off from CB. I also am using my own formula to figure uniques based on cookies I set and their formula does not match exactly. If you notice, on the 16th my sign ups were way off. I had dropped very badly in the rankings back on Dec 22. I corrected that on the 15th and my traffic came back to normal on the 17th. So, the traffic on the 16th reflects really crappy rankings where the traffic from the 17th on reflects mainly page 1 rankings. . |

Any suggestion is more than welcome, and any results would save my sanity :) I mainly target the US market because americans have the tipping culture, and CB is about tips. Amateur sounds reasonable also because that's what you see on CB. It would be great if I could pick a subniche (ex: gay amateur) but it looks like I can only choose logical OR as opposed to logical AND (sorry for the crappy explanation). Quote:
I was counting on the sheer number of impressions and clicks to at least get a few sign ups that convert. Quote:
I am not sure how long that would take me to be ranked in SEs. I am considering buying a site. I have a general question, in exoclick if I chose the Adult - Lesbian niche and then pick YouPorn as a website, does it mean the banner will show up in the Lesbian section of YouPorn or does it mean it can appear anywhere on YouPorn? Thanks |

Problem with buying a site is that if it is a successful site that is ranking it is going to be expensive. If someone is making money off their site they are going to want 6 months to a year worth of income for it. Revshare continues through the life of the site/user so it is passive, pretty dependable income. Nobody that is legit is going to give up an income producing site cheaply. That would not make sense. Quote:
If I was doing that traffic I would point it all at ppl and at least get a dollar for the sign ups. That is the quickest way to build the revenue but it is a very short term plan. A cam user is usually worth a lot more across the long term as revshare. I have never used exoclick so I am not sure how it works. Are you buying the traffic directly from exoclicks or are you running exoclick ads/plugs on another site? . |
Quote:
I'd be up for buying a site as an investment given the parameter you described) Exoclick: I buy traffic from exoclick. I set up my Niche, geolocation, CPM, URLs+banners, target sites. Unfortunately the niche selection seems limited. |
I said before and now I repeat you will earn real money on cams only when you'll get SE traffic , you can't buy real cam traffic because nobody is selling cam traffic , the cam traffic you find on traffic brokers are coming from tubes with webcam related names but is porn traffic not cam traffic ! Purchased traffic is not for cams , can work for other niches but not for cams ! Build unique sites using APIs , and other promo tools they offer and try to focus on SEO , also I not recommend to use wordpress and if you use it do some changes on the theme till the site is fast and have different URLs , titles ,description for each page , but will be better to have your own script than using wordpress ! You need to be patient till you new site will rank but after you will get SE traffic money will flow !

Either set up a small network of sites pushing to your whitelabel or CB main, something that you can control the SE content on. OR do a custom site using the api/xml feeds and push to your WL or CB main. Neither one is all that difficult to do. Or buy such a set up that is already out there. I made $20k off of my cam sites last year. Since 2014 I only made $2k off of them, I increased it 10 fold in 2015 so I am projecting similar results or approximately $200k this year. So, I would sell them to you for 6 months projected sales or about $100k. 30% down and then a monthly payment. I think that's fair. Really. :winkwink: . |

I admit the problem is these are costing me (and there is no return) and there is too little of them. I will follow your advice and build sites (surely I can use scripts to speed this up?). I wanted to avoid this because I have my doubts on how to make original up to date content and on the time dedicated to do this. Quote:

I'm a bit confused now. |
Are unique hits as many cookies planted for 30 days? Meaning, if one of those unique hits hasn't yet gone through free registration but decide to do so in 10 days, then he will still be bound to my affiliate id?

She then clarified that she screwed up. It was a while after hat. I was talking ot her and I said something about it being raw hits and she said no it is unique. I then showed her where she said it was raw and she apologized for messing me up and assured me it was unique. I don't think I have the email exchange any more, lost a bunch of emails in an October crash. . |

Somewhere here PB said that cookies are set for 90 days so no worries !

so far it seems we get an additional 6 signups a day from that popup traffic. so certainly not the best converting traffic, that said it is not specific cam traffic + popup so its to be expected |
Nice stats folks. It has taken me a few years to get to $3k+ a month but keep at it, you'll get there.
My January Earnings so far... http://i65.tinypic.com/345km6e.jpg Most of the traffic i send is popunders so doesn't convert the best, but you only need one member who spends a shit load of money to make it worthwhile ;) |

My camfoxes.com site is a custom build from CB's api. Free Adult Webcams at CamFoxes.com In your cb promo tools The top item should be API - Users online. If you click that you will see 3 different links. 1st says xml version, 2nd says JSON version, 3rd says YAML version. The only difference between them is the format of the data. Those are CB's API links. Each one will give you a list of users online right now and various information about them that you can use to build your own site using CB's information. Typically it requires a programmer to build something for you but there are some free scripts out there. The 2 I know about were available on nomoneyinporn.com but that site is gone. I have copides of what they had. 1 is a stand alone and 1 is a Wordpress plugin. They both use the XML version of the API. I DO NOT OFFER SUPPORT ON EITHER VERSION! I did not write them, I do not support them, I do not warranty them in any way. I just threw copies on my server when nomoneyinporn went away because people were still looking for them. I have no association with nomoneyinporn in any way. That does not mean I will not answer a question or two now and again if I feel qualified to answer. There are some threads around about these scripts and various ways to make them work better. Here are the download links: NMIP Standalone CB API script NMIP WordPress Version CB API script Here are the threads I know of: General API help especially speeding up the stand alone version of the NMIP script More Discussion of the same script There are probably some more too. I am working on some stuff for this to distribute but it is not my highest priority. Hope that helps :thumbsup . |

NMIP made a great script but also that script was not very SEO friendly I made a lot of changes to improve SEO on the script but I never could rank the site so I switched the site to a cambuilder WL only after two weeks I started to get SE traffic so that makes me think that script is not SEO friendly at all ! Now I am trying to build something I already made the cam listing and works fine , now I just need to figure out how to make the chat room page (for now I redirect users to model's chat room on CB using "chat_room_url_revshare")! I need to thank to sarettah for all the tips he gave me and to the others around here !

Getting traffic for Cams is killing me...I tryed to but traffic..A lot of money for nothing..Banner advertising=still nothing.Just SE traffic is good for Cams.
|
@sarettah - you are very helpful and inspiring!
Looked at your site to try to understand the cookie thing. Is there a reason you use the old embed code (chaturbate.com/embed/<room>? I think you are "missing" a cookie - the newer iframe embed code (from promo tools) sets a cookie as early as when it is opened. Tested and working. Now your users has to click inside your iframe to go to chaturbate and get a cookie. So if they leave your site after watching for a while, your cookie is not set. Just wondering if it is intentional... seems you earn "enough" from your screenshots anyway. :) |
@sarettah
Thanks a bunch man! Much appreciated! @Andreweb Do you mean "just" creating a whitelabel at Cambuilder has better ranking results than creating your own site using an import script? I would like to put some work into my project but I would like to know for sure what I am doing is worth the time and effort (obviously). I've already seen first hand that paying for traffic isn't working: not only I have a poor ratio but the few who registered don't pay, I have a whitelabel but nothing that points to it. So, which is best: script, cambuilder, tgp, blog? I don't have enough imagination to write a blog and feed it with interesting content. I was thinking of TGP but it requires hardware resources and financial investment which I am prepared to do if I know it will work. I will try the script just because you guys said it works and also it is a great excuse to go back to programming (at least it will look like I'm working when the wife looks at my screen... hehe) If cambuilder is an easy and working solution then I'll start with that, just because it's easy and quick (and then move up the list within that paragraph). My chaturbate records: I am now on 50737 hits and 68 registrations (1.34:1000) which none of them yielded any returns. That's right folks: zero, not even :2 cents: (That's rev, I actually made $7 on pay per sign up because I chose the wrong link once, I bet you these were the guys who ended up spending after they signed up! :) |

It seems NMIP WP plugin doesn't work properly in Chrome.
