Today its all throw away music, its not based on talent its based on a look. Most of the acts today will not be around in 20 yrs like U2 or the Rolling Stones or Eric Clapton. Someone spoke about the Ramones, they would of never gotten a record deal today, they were four ugly guys not pretty enough for TV. The problem is MTV turned music into a visual medium when its a aural one and when making music a visual thing the music suffers.

While I can appreciate a youthful eagerness to become famous, her voice needs some lessons to improve its range. The sound could be much better as well, whoever mixed it is a complete moron. Don't focus on the skill of the guitarist if she's not as skilled as she should be in order to become great at what she wants to do. Let her develop her style a bit. I like the Joan Jett/Lita Ford throwback idea, but this girl really needs to learn more than just chords.

Give her some time. Let her learn before she tries to wow crowds, or you're condemning her to fail before she's even begun.

I guess I should have explained that the video demo is a compilation of 4 songs. It's not 1 song. It was produced for record industry people.

She is still a little green on the solos, but by the time we finish up the project and she is ready to be released we are pretty certain she will be up to speed. That could be up to 2 years from now. We also plan to hire a lead/rhythm guitarist to free her up so she can jump around on stage. It's hard to front a band all by yourself at 13.

I'm sure it is hard for a 13 year old, hell it's hard for a 40 year old. Even in two years' time, she may well be off her game, because she still has a great deal to learn in that time, especially when you include schoolwork, demo recording, and the typical teenage "Do I really wanna do this or is it worth it" shit.

We recorded this in 3 days. Thanks to Napster and Kazaa, the budgets for development have been slashed. We spent as little as possible. If we get a good nibble we'll develop some more.
