This thread was started when GFY was in it's infancy, long before there were massive postwhore contests and such. I doubt GFY at the time had more than 1000 members or so.

I'm aware of that, my join date is a year later, but thanks for the lesson.

This thread also gets bumped once per year. (if not more)

I just don't see it as sad that postwhore contest threads get more posts. Especially considering that's their purpose.

What I think is sad is the fact that rather than a memorial, the thread turned into a political debate.

I am going to watch Flight 93, 9/11 - The Filmmakers' Commemorative Edition (2002) and In Memoriam. There is another one I need to get that has the documentary of what was going through the minds of the fighter pilots who scrabbled to get to the scene and what they were about to sacrifice. It also includes what the journalists recorded on Air Force One with Bush and what went on behind the scenes with traffic control across this country.

I love this country and my heart aches for all those who were lost.
