I (Canadian) do not hate any country. If a country has a few meatheads that do, that is not the countries fault. Blame that on the lack of selective breeding and Darwin?s theory.

I believe the entire 'America is bad' ideology stems from mere jealousy.

Everyone is always peeking over the fence to see what the other has; once they see, the bigger whatever-they-have, the person peering becomes jealous ('Why do I not have that ... I deserve it?').

Canada is an awesome country with a lot to see. Other than on this message board full of idiots and surfers and the petty potshots that people take at each other for fun, I don't think you can provide some solid examples of "Americans hating Canadians"

I'm actually very fond of Canadians. They mostly are a friendly good-natured people. I didn?t grow up near the border so when I moved up north I was able to formulate my own opinions about them from my trips without bias.

It always amazes me that a lot of Canadians have an innocent aura about them and they are almost never jaded people. Yet they still retain that ?new world pride? that Americans do (that rough and tough spirit of pioneers). That speaks volumes about their society. I?m not big on socialism but they seem to make it work.

I like to think that the constant back and forth between Canadians and Americans is similar to that of two brothers. One brother is more confrontational and loud, and the other more happy-go-lucky and reserved. You decide which one is which.

It was a generalized statement about the world and how everybody wants to be 'like Mike'.

Billions of people copy or model something or themselves (singular or plural entities ? that would be a person or company) after the US, all because of its 'success'.

Placing something on a pedestal and scrutinizing it so to duplicate it merely for profit is no different from idolizing, as far as I am concerned.

Something more simple: every Canadian cold-weather enthusiast knows and hears everyday is another Canadian bitching about the heat, and rarely do they say "I moving to BC", but rather California, Florida and some oven like that.

In addition, I tried to make it not tooooo apparent, but I was trying to get rid of that stigma (save face ? quick topic change) that ?Canada hates the US? ? only dumb ass doll-stomping-liberal politicians do.

I don't know anybody that hates Canadians. Nobody. Most people see Canada as a quiet and peaceful place, fresh air, nature, beauty... much like Alaska. Why you think Americans hate Canadians is really beyond me. The only real hate I've ever seen for a country as a whole is France, and that didn't last long.
