ya there are alternatives.. but if nobody uses them, then it's useless.
you are right but, if it's fast/easy/free to open an account, why shouldn't sponsors open an account on all and use them as payment method options ?
affiliates that are fed up with epass will choose only 1
there is definitely a need

Exactly. I work with two or three sponsors who pay only by wire or EP. They charge up to $20 per wire and because I live in the middle of nowhere,
all the local banks charge $10 for receiving US wires and $30 for foreign wires.
So the choice for me is lose $50 off each payment, avoid such sponsors, or work with EP. Add to that, I have never needed multiple banks or "alternate" names and addresses, so since PayPal zapped me because ARS sent a payment through after the introduction of their no-adult rules, I haven't been able to open another account. Which leaves EP as the only common payment option when I do any business with other webmasters.
And I hate it. All the people praising EP seem to be overlooking that they are doing the job they were set up to do. Of course things are going to happen as they should most of the time for most of the people. Almost all their work revolves around automated "electronic" transactions, for heaven's sake. The test isn't whether such a business normally works, but how fast and efficiently it deals with any problems which arise. And that is where EP fall down. I put as little through them as possible, but I guarantee I have spent more time with EP on the 'phone and with emails in the last 3 or whatever years, than I have spent communicating with all the banks put together that I have worked with over the past 40 years.
it should be a standard for sponsors to use at least one more alternative to ePass, either it's Neteller or funds2go or whatever - as long as there are no fees for opening accounts - why not ?
everybody seems to be crying there are no alternatives but I think they are - we just need to decide as sponsors and affiliates to use them.
what is wrong with this logic ?

Honestly? I think funds2go.com is where it's going to go. Better telephone response, higher daily withdrawal limits, better response time (in terms of finishing up something) - other than Keyser trying to make things roll faster, if it's out of his hands, then you better sacrifice a goat to get something done with Epassporte.
I hope more sponsors start adding Funds2go to their systems sooner so people can receive their money and withdraw it as they please. I think the pricing is competetive anyhow so give the affiliates a choice on how to get their money.
I signed up for ePassporte today so I could load an account with Traffic Holder... 1st of - they charged me $10 to load $140, then $35 for an actual card.... Then 25 cents to do the transaction... what a ripp-off...
Bet I'll even get charged a cash advance fee from the credit card co.
Best part - 5 minutes after going through the process that included me having to call the credit card co to find out what they charged as a validity check... Capital One calls me asking if the load and pending charge are fraud...
ePassporte is obviously being watched by Capital One... and maybe Visa has them set in their sights.

this is not a standard epass bashing thread, we are looking for alternatives.
