as for avn and free passes.. wont happen. avn does these shows to make money. why do you think they did a second one (fla. internext) at a hotel in aug.... cheap rates for them to get the place. its about money. i mean of all the places to have a show fla. in aug would be my last choice

I have been going to adult industry shows for a long time.

The first time I went to AVN was 1994, the first time I went to Internext, it was still callled IA 2000 and held in New Orleans.

I want to commend Alec and the staff of XBIZ for making it a free show, it was a great idea.

It was just a few years ago that Internext was widley attended by many amateur web models and webmasters; they helped make the Internext shows of 2002 and 2003 some of the most fun conventions I have ever attended.

Now just a few years later you never those people at Internext. When I asked them why they say it's because Internext has become too expensive.

I know Chris personally and think he is a great guy.

I can also understand that he is following company policy, and is going to take defend AVN for charging so much to attend their show.

All this being said I think what Alec and XBIZ did was a great idea, and wish that AVN would follow suit.

As an affiliate i originally never intended to go to any shows at all, but my terribly handsome friend happened to get married during a show so i decided to go. After meeting all the awesome people and having a blast i made up my mind that i would go to one more show this year.

It was originally going to be internext but when i saw that xbiz vegas was free registration i thought (hey 300 saved = one extra night GFE with my favorite "escort") so i talked it over with my man friend and we decided to go. Had a crazy sexy time in vegas so all in all it was a good choice to go.

That being said I am also going to internext and i do not mind paying the registration fee because i had already decided to go earlier in the year. The xbiz show was a nice little bonus for me. Even tho i did no work on my sites and lost some GFE nights at the tables, it was all in all a great trip.

I just signed up for a mainstream show that's $400 and I know I'll get 10X my money's worth. It's the bottom line ROI that's important. If you're just going for the free food/booze/play with friends, then you're not going to want to pay. But if going increases your bottom line, then it's worth the $$$

Faye, and now LAJ and Connor, has always worked hard to keep the fees down and the hotel rates low - hell, I can remember people berating her for having the shows in such cheap hotels!

But again, if you're going to make more than you spend, no amount is too much and if you're not going to make crap then any amount is too much. Basic common sense tells you which shows to go to.

Besides proving a common meeting ground our industry shows aren't worth much. Mainstream shows are worth every dime because you can learn things. I've never taken anything from the actual shows.

I think there would be riff raff with or without free passes.

Internext Vegas has the most non industry attendees as far as I recall. It's annoying no matter what show but it is what it is.

I missed Xbiz Vegas this year because I didn't think anyone would be at the show that I hadn't seen in the last 60 days.

We didn't sponsor anything although it's in our budget cause I'm still bitter Eroticy won the Xbiz Award. There is no way people voted for Eroticy over DatingGold, AFF, Fling or SexSearch. In hindsight giving Eroticy the award probably did no good for Xbiz since they fell off the planet. Maybe we'll win it this year, but Im not holding my breath.

I've have had successful returns on shows but once you meet enough people, you can work deals online and you're down to doing nothing but partying and watching dick waving and boob flashing. The seminars seem to be the same ones I attended years ago - not much to learn offline at this point. I haven't seen a reason to attend an adult show in years and I doubt I will again at this point. It's a lot easier to look at the pictures - thanks JFK!! :thumbsup

I disagree Shap,yes you have many years experience over me but l do know a lot of business can be done at shows in fact I got my biggest ever contract at the New York show

I do mainstream shows also and they dont produce any more results than adult shows
