more and more are popping up every day it seems..

V_RocKs 12-12-2008 12:07 AM

I used my card so that I can take all of the info to my district attorney and have their billing revoked when the billing companies don't want to have anything to do with an investigation.

i think most of the guys doing this are overseas

JamesK 12-12-2008 01:19 AM

No wonder their chargeback rate is so high.

V_RocKs 12-12-2008 01:46 AM

Well, Mitch, why is NetBilling docking my credit card for a membership I canceled? And why are you guys billing for a company CCBILL and Epoch won't touch?

I$ support used to sit in this forum for days with those "spam and win threads".. I wonder why there is no response to this one?

LOLOLOL

I think Visa might have something to say about this.

The main stream Internet sales are growing, built mostly on good business practices, so if peoples cards were black listed for a legit charge back they would be very angry. All you need to do is send Visa the links.

Its not possible for these guys to blacklist a person from using a card on the net lol... thats just their scare tactic.

I was laughing at that text on their (and others) support site.

Do you seriously think that would happen?

This industry willnever self regulate and has to be forced to regulate. I started a thread asking about regulation and most of the posters there want to see less if not NO regulation.

No worries the members will regulate us, they will no longer spend money. :Oh crap

More people need to do this and throw a few people into prison. Then some might go for self regulation. :winkwink:

Maybe sending the information to Visa will help.

Could be that if Visa find out they might look at how some companies operate and take action. Then everyone will be screaming about another processor going down and people losing money because of it.

XX_RydeR 12-12-2008 03:28 AM

Is this shit going to end?

How long are people going to continue promoting affiliate programs that operate like this?

Damn, I find myself agreeing with 12clicks. Quick, someone check if Hell has frozen over.

From what I've seen it's a relatively small number of programs that are responsible for the vast majority of the shady cross sale and credit card scams. The sheer magnitude is what is so shocking.

Fletch XXX 12-12-2008 06:41 AM

for the record, Incredible is the company that claimed a "rogue affiliate" was carding and used my number to join on their sites (with me never visiting a single site or joining one) and we brought it to the attention of Incredible (on icq were told refund would be put through)

I am sorry i reported on GFY all was good, there was no refund ever made and I am still totally clueless and amazed a company can just withdraw funds from my account for multiple trials and memberships to sites in their network, while i never even surfed any of them, let alone pull my card out and join.

this is fraud and its amazing to see everyone coming out about this, a good while after many of us have made threads on GFY about these weird fraud charges.

this is blatant fraud and i had to report my card stolen and stop all charges going through because some "rogue affiliate" was putting through fraudulent memberships with my credit card number?

I wouldnt post about this had we not been told by a person the refund was going out,... it never has...

hmmmm, how is being surprised you agree with one of the most successful online operators this industry has ever seen a good thing for you? :1orglaugh

Bryan G 12-12-2008 08:35 AM

Interesting

V_RocKs 12-12-2008 02:15 PM

I find it alarming how many people are generalizing this type of behavior as an industry wide problem. This is not an industry wide problem. There are plenty of very large programs that don't use these tactics.

Thus far it seems Incredible Dollars doesn't even have actual customer service reps...

I wouldnt say its a small number of programs, maybe you are unaware of many of them.
edit: or maybe better way to say it is a small number of people are responsible.

Or at least, if it is, you're not aware of it yet. I'd advise you to try your card with a few of your favourite cross-selling programs and see if it makes it out alive. Or better yet, get a new card and try it here and there, just so you can easily tie it to the culprits.

Looks like I canceled... So I went back and canceled 3 more times just to be sure... Seems their cancellation form does nothing more than pretend to cancel you.

I hope you didn't use a real credit card. I'd also say to keep an eye on your card for awhile. When I signed up through them, I got hit by someone almost 2 weeks later.

They don't give a shit, thats basically what they said them selfs. They are not here to police the interweb.

The great thing is you can host your own joinpage with NB if you have a merchant (some others do this too though). Imagine the things you can do with that :thumbsup

That's not true, I got one of my CC's Data stolen a few years ago, and charged back 1500 from over 21 different billings. Got a new card and never had any problem with using them since then.

Interesting Fact is that I've used the Card only for Google, Yahoo and Sex.com, I wonder which one of these forwarded my data to some thieves :disgust

Yes I know its not true... I found it funny that many sites are using that on their support pages... of course that is not possible to do, they just putting a scare in the customer who most likely will never join another porn site again.
