Totemcash deletes inactive accounts
Quote:
Maybe they try to save in on harddrive space now when the adultindustry turns to shit. Or maybe they just want those $?? USD that I had laying in the account. They can do whatever they want since it's in their terms but still, I 've never understood the reason to delete inactive accounts. It's not like I'm going to signup again if they lanch a new product. |
Kills rebills for no longer "productive" affiliates.
Not condoning it, just explaining it. |
Just another way to earn a few $$. Fuck em!
|
Fuck em :321GFY
|
dear idiots, if you can't make a sale in 6 months, you're not really in business and therefore have no business talking about business.
hahaha, too many "businesses" |

that is not exactly fair some people might have tried it...and then moved onto other things. it is in their TOS that this can happen though....so they were fair warned |

I'm a member of hundreds of affiliate-programs, I only push a very few of them hard, others I just send a couple of hits to each month and some of them doesn't get one single hit. But I might go back to them and push them harder in the future so why close down the accounts? |
fuck them
|

Its silly to be a member of "hundreds" of affiliate programs and I doubt very seriously (and so do your sponsors) that you'll push them hard in the future. This isn't a personal attack, its just the way it is. I've often thought of purging our system of inactive accounts. |

fuck them

Is it in their TOS that they will terminate inactive accounts?
If so, sorry about your luck. Should have read the fine print. If not... it's a shitty thing to do. |

You also have their emails so you can mail them and tell them about new products/sites. I've been a webmaster since 2002, of course I have signed up for tons of affiliate-programs. For example I've had been a member of MoreNiche affiliate-program since 2006 and I started to build for them and send them sales this year... When asking on the board for FHGs in a niche and people tell you that you get get those galleries at ******** and *******. Which would be your #1 choice, a sponsor you already have a account with or a sponsor where you have to create a new account? |
Affiliates are a risk.
Having affiliates without any reward is counterproductive. If they have it in their TOS and you haven't sent even one sale in 6+ months to them... Why should they waste their time or energy on your account? If you decide in the future you want to ACTIVELY promote them you can always contact them to start/restart an account. |
|
If that was stated in their TOS then you have no right to have and argument.

I've had around 60$ there and now that's lost....

You're on the short end of it. No big deal. For a sponsor, someone who hasn't made a sale in 6 months is an inactive affiliate, regardless of whether a few hits trickle in or not. They gave you notice. It's not "retarded" it's just business. If they made the wrong decision, they'll pay the price. |
It is retarded. Why have revshare for life if they are gonna remove me if i dont promote them anymore.
Fuck them. |

the same did Apple Cash for my account :(
|
Same email here and $60.87 left in the account.
Well, their loss. |
Same here, great revshare program that stops paying for current rebills...
|
Their products were the shit -2006 or so...
|
i don't use them anymore

Accounts can be moved to temporary files and then put back into the datebase when a referral hit is received or a login occurs. Accounts that are the most active can be "shifted to the front" for priority. Many many ways to handle it. But not if the programmer is fucking dumb. This is dumb shit. Youporn can handle a million videos, but a sponsor is fucked trying to manage 10,000 affiliates????? :1orglaugh Pardon me while I shit in my pants from laughter. :helpme:helpme:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Hrm I did get in.. Good stats, 7,013 clicks, 369 installs, 96 signups, 41 rebills, 2 refunds, 2 chargebacks, $980.
|
Talk about being shortsighted.
So even if you're still sending traffic, they shut down your account? So even if you still have active rebills and you're on revshare, they shutdown your account? Keeping an affiliate account active requires no effort and only a tiny amount of DB space. Deleting 'inactive' affiliates (and keeping the money in their accounts) does cost time, money, effort,... IMO, a company that does this looks like they are desperate and is probably going down soon. Totemcash = shitlisted. |

if threre are rebills coming through its not inactive. its just fraud, plain and simple.

Pardon me while I shit in my pants from laughter. Its easier to delete inactive accounts than pander to someone who hasn't sent you a join in 6 months. Christ, most of your internet careers are less than 6 months. |
and before you losers reach climax jerking each other off, I suggest you ask the thread starter to clarify whether or not he was on rev share and had active rebills.
His post never mentions them |

But it's a programmer problem, not an SQL problem. Rookie php programmers just blindly stuff shit into the SQL database and then expect to pull it all out with complex query statements that cause the database to basically "crawl itself". So the "quick fix" is to make the DB smaller by deleting data. Lame. Actually quite pathetic. Just fix the programmer instead. |
