I'd say the Fallout series as a whole would be #1 overall. The first installment was RPG of the year in '98. Fallout 2 is touted by many as being the best computer game of all time. Hell I even love Fallout Tactics. These early installments still have a huge and very loyal online community and are heavily modded for even more playability.
The newer versions of it are great too. Fallout 3 and FO New Vegas, and all their add-ons and extensions etc are huge right now. I just flat-out love the whole series, but I've always been a huge fan of the post-apocalyptic genre. |

SPACE WAR (60's) was the game that really started it all. PONG was the first commercial system not including the Space War Demo's I think), and Space Invaders and Pacman were very fun, very easy to play yet difficult to master : All components of any game that should be considered "best". |
