World War Z

This may be the first movie in several years that I can say I'm actually looking forward to.

2013 05-17-2013 08:50 AM

Sweet PANIC!!!!!!!!!!!

dehash 05-17-2013 08:52 AM

As usually US army has lack of fire/gun power.

As right now the most amazing movie I saw in theater was "Avengers" - so much action and good humor on big screen - it was awesome.

pimpmaster9000 05-17-2013 09:36 AM

the US gov needs help from brad pitt kind of movie :( was hoping for something better...

Darkhorse 05-17-2013 09:38 AM

Not a huge fan of Pitt myself, but must admit I am waiting for this as well.

dyna mo 05-17-2013 09:39 AM

looking forwward to this too

pornguy 05-17-2013 09:47 AM

Im reading a version of it right now. Written from the point of view of a UN investigator and the interviews he did after the War.

cant wait to see the movie either.

grumpy 05-17-2013 09:47 AM

wait for the sequels 2 3 and 4

CDSmith 05-17-2013 09:51 AM

Apparently there'll be a pc/console video game of this coming out as well. It wasn't until after the remake of Dawn of the Dead and then later playing the vidgame Left4Dead that this genre really hit home with me.

Now I'm hooked.

brassmonkey 05-17-2013 09:56 AM

its a month away :(

George Romero's films are completely shit but the remakes of Dawn Of The Dead (2004) & The Crazies (2010) were excellent!

I'm also looking forward to War Z, it looks excellent!

seeandsee 05-17-2013 11:02 AM

look interesting

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie too but something in first part of the trailer really bugs me.

At 0:17 the bike seems to be going really fast despite the fact that it has a short time to get to that speed and that it is driving between cars. Ok, the bike can easily get up to speed and drive that way, but it "feels" funny.

At 0:19 the establishing shot shows they are on a very long road but the shot at 0:25 clearly shows he is on a short road. There is a building right behind brad pit that is 4 to maybe 6 car lengths away.

Then at 0:37 the cop gets hit by a garbage truck which could never have got up to speed in that short distance, and never makes a sound, and should have been seen in the shot at 0:34. The continuity established by the cop yelling "Get back in your car right now" makes the garbage truck "appear out of nowhere".

Edited this way as a trailer-only is really sloppy and cheap. I hope the movie isn't done like this and I hope this scene is much better.

I am done nit-picking for today.

Better trailer here:

My little cousin is an extra in this movie, they filmed parts of it in Glasgow, Scotland. Looks pretty cool, I'll probably check it out jus to see his name in the credits lol.

Since when did the US lack military armaments?

Several years is pushing it I think but I'll agree the trailer looks great. Hope it lives up to the expectation.

Not at all actually. I really can't think of a movie that's come out in the past 3 or 4 years that I can say I truley had this much anticipation to see. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed several films made during that time, but none have piqued my interest as much as this one.

Opinions may vary though. This is just mine.

he was awesome in 'killing them softly'

TracyCam 05-18-2013 01:45 PM

I read they missed the 2012 doomsday date and called back the actors re-shoot many scenes because the movie really sucks and already way over budget.

Must be, one of the main reasons the last war was won is because of armaments sent to Britain and Russia from the lend lease act.

John-ACWM 05-20-2013 12:35 PM

It's on my list! :thumbsup

Phoenix 05-20-2013 12:43 PM

CDSmith 05-21-2013 04:07 AM

No - it is just a pattern, template of all movies. All this movies : Independence Day, Battle Ship, War of the Worlds, Colverfield, Battle: Los Angeles, Godzilla, all zombie movies - US army always suck in the beginning.

CDSmith 05-22-2013 10:05 AM

So it surprises no one there's an estimated budget of $400 Million on this film so far?

Four hundred Million.

Pitt better pray it delivers.

dehash 05-22-2013 12:19 PM

That's not our tax money so I don't care.

The largest, most powerful military in the world... has a lack of fire power? Oh really?
