Do you own/ride a bicycle ??
Haven't owned one in years but thinking about getting one this weekend. Let's just say i'm inspired by the Triathlon. :winkwink:
I figure this will keep my attention more than just running. Let's see how long it lasts. Pity our Summer will be over soon though. Do you cycle ?? :upsidedow |

You will be surprised how useful it is - Nipping out to get milk, post a letter that sort of thing..... |
I do. :thumbsup

Yea. Got 3 MTB's. Two full suspension (Specialized Enduro and Ghost RT7500) and one hardtail (Ghost). Used to ride Downhill but too many injuries. Now I just do cross country :)

you get what you pay for, figured that out once i got into triathlons. its expensive, but if you want something good, its really reflective of the equipment
|
I have been racing MTB ( XC) for the last 8 years.
This is the bike I ride for this season. 27.5 wheels are a lot of fun :) http://p.vitalmtb.com/photos/users/2...jpg?1383770782 |

I got back into biking last year; Seems they call it "cycling" now. I ride pretty much every day, including seven miles this morning.
My bike is a Fuji.... https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...93174201_o.jpg |
The wife and I have mountain bikes, we hit the trails around the house every so often but I haven't used it yet this year. I have slow punctures in both wheels, I really should repair them. We also use them to cycle to the pub for beers on Saturday afternoons, means we can have a few drinks and sit in the sun.

The cycle ride home must be fun ?? :1orglaugh

I don't have a full carbon wind tunnel special but i have a solid trek 1500 that is light enough for me. |
My bike I posted above is made with all name-brand components- wheels, tires, hubs, chain, brake, stem, bars, everything. total weight = 19 pounds. total cost = $185

I was just talking yesterday ,that I am thinking about buying a bike. I can't remember when it was list time I was driving it, probably back in 1983 after BMX bandits. I would like to replace car, for short distances, because of health. But I don't know anything about bikes and what I should buy.

I don't have a clue what are my options when buying a bike. What are technologies today and what I should consider.

I have a mountain bike that I haven't put to use in about 6 months... I should start riding again; it's a great workout and it's really convenient since I have a bike trail a few blocks from my place. I'm more into the night rides!
|
I have Trek 8.3 DS Hybrid. I was doing 30 mile rides for a while, but I keep my rides short and intense now.
|
Yes, have a Trek road bike just for working out, nothing crazy not a racer lol
|
If you buy a bike don't go to a department store, go to a local bike shop. I spent just over $400USD on a decent Diamondback hybrid.
I put over 3,500miles on Heybuddy (my bike has a name ) last year, and am around 2,500miles so far this year. http://photos-c.ak.instagram.com/hph...87602180_n.jpg |
I mountain bike more than road riding, but we have a lot of rail-to-trail type riding which can be nice easy riding to get you into the wilderness.
Riding for over 20 years keeps me fit and healthy and it's the only sport where every ride is just as fun as the first day I went, there's nothing like it. Here in BC is mountain biking is amazing. |
Got an MTB and a regular all day bike

Gotta love gfy. I doubt there are many places where people try and insult you over a simple bicycle.

Did you put it together yourself or have it assembled? I have not worked on many bikes but am pretty mechanical. Just wondering how much extra that would run. My wife just got a bike and wants me to tool around town with her. Down to the beach etc. This would be perfect! |
Atom, it came 90% assembled. More Prolly. Check out critical cycles. Also purefix, state bikes for some nice choices and they all use quality components. Nothing fancy, just good solid simple bikes. Craig's list usually has a few of these used also. I got mine at amazon, open box price. They are typically around $200

Yup. I am a lifetime bike guy. I ride all over LA and people tell me that's insane, and it kind it is.
|
I bought over 6 years ago normal city/ trekking bike for around 250 USD. best money ever spent...I ride whole year and I love it.
bicycle - ideal for decent European city |
