I guess my thought was it seems above suspicion versus Hawaii. Just seemed odd that we were up in arms over Hawaii and their short form birth certificate versus a military base in Panama.

He was born in Coco Solo which is - no matter what map you look at - in Panama. You can argue and debate all you want about territories and what not, but McCain was born in Panama.

I think what happened is... The Republican party was concerned that someone would question McCain's eligibility to be President, so instead they made up all of that silly stuff about Obama not being born in Hawaii.

I don't know about your US laws, but pretty much in every other country, you being natural born citizen (in some country) doesn't require you actually being born within the boundaries of that country. If you will born during your parents holiday on somewhere else, you will still be citizen by birth.
