Police Tackle, Pepper Spray Black Man Attempting To Charge Electric Car

Police Tackle, Pepper Spray Man Attempting To Charge Electric Car | Cop Block |
Typical LA area stuff, and they wonder why their cities get burned down every couple of decades.

Ham fisted approach:2 cents:

"Santa Monica police have defended officers actions saying they ?acted within policy? because Palmer ?resisted arrest.?"
What a surprise. The police policy includes throwing a man down to the concrete and pepper spraying him when he asks why they want to see his ID. And asking the cops for the reason why they want to see an ID is resisting arrest. It all fits. What are the apologists going to say? He shouldn't have ....... what? Stood there? Asserted his rights, granted by the constitution? Asked a question? Looked at them funny? What shouldn't he have done? |
it wasn't because he was black, it was because he was green. :)
|
Yep! They should do that to anyone with an electric car!

If you have ever been to Santa Monica you know that there are hardly any black people. You would think that LA which is a generally liberal city would be friendly to black people but white people are often very racist toward blacks. You hear the N word all the time.
I hope that guy gets a huge settlement. A BLACK MAN with an electric car????? Oh the horror. |
the park closes at 11 and this tard shows up at 10:57 to charge up.
|
So once again, the problem is due to the fact that the person was non compliant with the officers and it escalated Due to his own behavior.
Has nothing to do with charging a car. All you have to do is say "yes sir" and "no sir" and give hem what they ask like normal people do who NEVER find themselves getting in trouble EVER do.... and as you are required to by law It's not that tough for a sane person to comprehend. |

oh wait... no charges... |
There is always more to every story and leaving out facts sure helps stir shit up …... The park closes at 11:00 and showing up just before to start a charging process is ridiculous and instead of leaving as requested he makes a stink then refuses to provide ID, etc …..
"A Pico neighborhood man who was arrested at Virginia Avenue Park during the late evening of April 21, for allegedly violating the City’s park closure ordinance and delaying and obstructing officers in the performance of their duties, will not be charged. According to the Santa Monica Police Department, officers were conducting a check at Virginia Avenue Park at the corner of Pico and Cloverfield on that night when they came across a man later identified as Justin Palmer, whose vehicle was parked at the charging station. The SMPD said officers told Palmer that the park closed at 11 pm and that the electric vehicle charging station was closed as clearly posted. “The subject repeatedly refused to leave the park and after numerous requests, officers made the decision to issue him a citation for violating the city’s park closure law,” according to the SMPD. “When officers requested to see his identification, he repeatedly refused to provide it. The subject was placed under arrest for violation of the municipal park closure ordinance and delaying and obstructing an officer in the course of his duties. During the arrest, the subject actively resisted. Officers deployed pepper spray and physically restrained him.” Pico Neighborhood Man Will Not Be Charged After Arrest In Virginia Avenue Park | Santa Monica Mirror . |
MarkPrimce and those like him don't care about facts, they only care about their agendas.
|
SMPD should bill that guy for the cost of arresting him, including the pepper spray used.

It wasn't the po-po, his false sense of entitlement was his enemy.

which is weird because the OP started an "enough racism" thread here just a week ago.
i guess it was enough racism until he could find a topic to spin with a racist slant. https://gfy.com/fucking-around-and-pr...s-instead.html |

L-Pink I didn't write the article, and honestly I have nothing to say about it. I share it here since there is so many stories about cops targeting black people, and because it came up in my usual EV-esq searches, that's all. Was the guy treated unfairly? Maybe. Should he have shown his ID? Yes. Should he have obeyed the rules of the park? Yes, even though others seem not to be. Does any of this disagree with your beliefs on this issue? |

Put your white guilt away and look at things for what the are sometimes, a douche bag acting stupid. |
it's against the law to park at that park after 11pm. obviously this law has been abused and ignored by several people there. it's not like those other cars had drivers in them that the police could tell to clear out.
The OP did have something to say about the article, he's the one that included pointing out the driver was black. he also writes that he's called me names in the past, like he doesn't do that any more. |
"Charging" a car as in electric car, or charging at it as in running towards it to do damage? Big difference :2 cents:

Why do you feel you get to be a total cunt to ~100,000,000 people and a nation you are not a citizen of and thats OK? Why do you feel you get to insult so many people daily and then be above reproach, be on the higher moral ground and not be rightfully insulted back? You are a weak human being. |

So wait you instantly believe the story which washes away any wrong doing by the police but completely ignore the story which talks of police abuse. How exactly did you determine that one story is right and the other is wrong? You instantly accept the story which goes out of it's way to paint the guy as the villain and white washes the police brutality claims. Meanwhile you discredit the other story because it paints a different picture than what you want to believe. Simple question.. If the cops acted properly and this guy was in the wrong, then why were no charges filed? The fact the guy was not charged screams volumes about the police story being not 100% truthful. So wouldn't it make more sense that the truth is somewhere in the middle? That maybe this guy acted like a dick and the cops acted like bigger dicks abusing their power? |
Quote:
The guy admits showing up knowing the park will be closed within minutes but he was going to start a time consuming charging process anyway. He admits he was told to leave. He admits to being argumentative when asked for ID, which when an auto is involved is pretty standard procedure. At any moment the guy could have behaved reasonably and driven home. As far as no charges being filed so what. Charges are dropped all the time, ALL THE TIME. . |

Also if this was an issue that had happened at lot, then why wouldn't the city just kill the power to the chargers @ 11pm to end any issues right there and then. |

Just like you ignored the following from the OP's link … "Palmer says he’d gone to the park just before 11 p.m. to charge his electric vehicle because he’s not allowed to charge at his apartment complex a few blocks away" I really don't give a fuck. Again I'm just pointing out how all these "cop" incidents could have been prevented by the "victim" before any violence starts. But Nooooooo ….. . |

Was it racially motivated? Maybe. Do I think it was? Not sure. Was he treated the way he was because he was black? I hope not. Quote:
