What are you talking about? Ubuntu is an operating system, while iMac is just a PC brand (one of many like Asus, Lenovo etc).

If you are going to compare Ubuntu with Mac OS X (which is not iMac PC), when course Ubuntu will be more useful, because it's an open-source Linux system.

In Ubuntu you can have it vertical, horizontal or no taskbar at all. You can use various window managers which can be configured in the exact way you want it. I mean you can make them looking absolutely differently. Everything is adjustable in Linux and there is no such a thing as "standard look" of desktop :2 cents:

I would not compare the Linux freedom with shitty Mac OS X made for stupid housewives.

We ordered one through the website for the wife. We got up and running. Nice box, nice product. However, when it came to actually using it, it's ass backwards to me. I was just trying to think of how to do the most basic tasks and how to replicate them on Mac.

Bottom line, I didn't want to relearn how to use it and just returned it. It might be good for someone, but for me it caused more issues than solved. Wife agreed and was smart about returning it.

But how can anyone tell if it's faster when it hangs on 3rd party ads all the time.
I have to keep clicking reload until a new ad will load and the webpage will work.

Flash is dead because this piece of shit killed it.
Flash ran just fine on Android when Android was first put on a phone.

But truthfully Apple is correct and you would want to use an external setup for the sake of quality. On the PCs we use here we always disable the onboard sound chip in BIOS and use an external DAC or encoder for audio.

My explanation is that imac sucks rabid rat balls and it works and looks in every way just like Ubuntu.

Ubuntu is only better because you put it on a Window PC.

Ubuntu and OSX are not the same thing at all. Strange comparison. I use all three operating systems and when it comes to productivity, I can move around a Mac much faster.

I got ridiculous latency and weird "double tracking" with second track delayed by 2-3 seconds.

What a nonsense? "PC" means Personal Computer (isn't English your mother language?) All modern PC's are Intel-compatible (the ARM-based ones is a special case). And you are free to install any operating system to them: Windows, Mac OS X, Linux (Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, Mint, RedHat, CentOS etc), Free BSD, Open BSD or whatever. So if you buy ASUS, you can install Mac OS X on it. If you buy iMac, you can install Windows on it (and many do this!) There is no limitation like: Mac OS X for iMac, Windows for ASUS, Ubuntu for Lenovo, Free BSD for Acer etc. All those computers have the same chipset and CPU so you can install any operating system you like - doesn't matter if they are Mac's or Lenovo's.

Does it make some sense to you now? :)

P.S. I have a self-assembled PC with 3 operating systems installed on it: Windows, Linux and Mac OS X. So is my computer a PC, a Mac, a Ubuntu or a Windows one???

My experience has been completely different. I own several macs now (and a PC), and I can say that my experience with Apple has never been short of perfect.

I've never tried Ubuntu but I'm guessing that it won't let your Mac communicate with your other apple products, and I'm pretty sure the level of support is not the same either. With Mac running OSX, you get instant support by phone.


I think maybe you misunderstood the rep. Assuming you mean the Macbook, it is touted as a "wireless computer" (see MacBook - Apple (CA) "Fully equipped for a wireless world.". If you want to use a Mic for things like skype and phone calls, you can use a bluetooth headset. If you want to connect a Mic to record your singing voice, you can use a wired USB mic, etc.



That's not true. You can use your Mac without ever entering your credit card. But if you want to buy things from the app store, then of course you pay by credit card.

No, it's great. Buying software from the app store is just the beginning. It is also used to to inform you when your apps require an update. This is much more efficient than the usual way. Plus the app store has tons of free stuff too.

Anyway, before anyone screams "Apple Fanboy", I also have a PC (Alienware Area 51 with Windows 10). It works well and is fast enough, but I find that I am much more productive on my Macs.
