For most states the deadline to certify a candidate for the candidates for the ballot come anywhere from August 15th through late September.

So if either party is going to replace a candidate on the ballot they better do it quickly.

Technically if Hillary were dumped Bernie could step in even if it were past some state's deadlines. For example Oklahoma and Arkansas have a deadline of Aug 15th. If he weren't on those ballots it wouldn't make much of a difference because he has no chance of winning those states anyway.

In reality, if the emails all came out and some were very damning she would still be the candidate, but who knows how many votes she would get.

As for the president using his bully pulpit to campaign, yeah, that only happens in pretty much every presidential election. If they are running for re-election then they use it on their own behalf and if not they use it to help their party. There are some exceptions. For example, Bush was so unpopular at the end of his presidency McCain wanted nothing to do with him so Bush didn't do much campaigning for him. It's one of the advantages of being the party in power.

Let me ask you this. I understand you hate Clinton. I'm no fan of hers. Do you really think Trump will be a good president or do you just like him because he isn't Clinton? If you believe he will be a good president what makes you believe that?

If there is a third party that could someday start taking away seats in Congress they might have to do a better job of listening to the people who vote for them.
