Trump Casinos? Tax Debt Was $30 Million. Then Christie Took Office.

Seems Trump's casino owed $30 million in taxes, and Gov. Christie knocked it down to $5 million. And even then, it seems like Trump's casino spent the past decade trying to fight paying any taxes.

Seems all of Trump's businesses operate this way. They fight paying taxes as much as they can, then fail to pay. The US federal government has taken him to court dozens of times to get Trump to pay taxes due.

Chris Christie is a real piece of shit alright.

Check this out:

Exxon Mobil polluted the fuck out of NJ. They got caught and a legal battle that took 9 years was finally won by the state, and Exxon had to pay $8.9 Billion dollars.

Then in rolls greasy Chris Christie, and now they have to pay only $225 Million.

Fuck Christie. I hope the humiliation he suffered as Trump's little asshole-licker lasts him for the rest of his life.

Yearly taxes are a scam. Everything we eat, drive, breathe, drink, etc. is taxed. There are so many tax breaks for our yearly taxes that you can legally pay little taxes and I'm all for that! I pay enough in fees/taxes daily/monthly , fuck the yearly tax scam!

Chris Christie lost me along the way... I am a former Jersey boy (born there and lived there until I was 17).

There was an animal-welfare bill, which was about how to treat pigs before they are slaughtered. Everyone in NJ wanted this to go into effect, and Christie shot it down. At the time Christie was a presidential candidate and needed to make a good impression in New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina, and other states - farming states where this is an issue. So he went against what his citizens wanted, and instead shot the bill down to impress people in other states.

WTF kind of shit what that?

obviously if you would ever get audited, you wouldn't hire a lawyer/accountant to make sure you pay what you are supposed to and not a penny more, eh? you would pay what the government thinks you owe them, and throw in extra 10% with a note "keep up the good work guys!", right? After all, roads need to be paved and schools need to be good, so only a real asshole would question government tax auditor... :thumbsup

Oh, I disagree with that. People tend to think NJ is Newark. It isn't. I grew up in Western NJ, near PA. It was all hills and farmland. Newark, the Turnpike, all of that was foreign to us. I also don't have that NJ accent.

But the New Jersey I grew up in was beautiful.

Exactly. Roads, Police, Fire Department, and everything else you take for granted should be turned over to Private Enterprise so they can charge you what their shareholders are happy with.

If you paid "enough" taxes, the US wouldn't be so deep in debt.

The tax loopholes people like Trump use are created by people like Christie. They're not available to you and me. Then when the bill arrives Trump decides he shouldn't pay all of it. Rather you should or schools should, roads, etc, should be starved of funding or the country should borrow more money.

Paul Markham 08-17-2016 11:01 PM

To those who think they pay too much tax.

Study what taxes pay for, then decide who should lose their jobs and go onto benefits. Then factor in the cost of the Private Sector taking over that job.

You might want to compare private Roads, Healthcare, Schools, Security Forces, Fire Departments, etc to Public Sector ones. Even a Private Sector Company deciding how much tax you should pay.

MrMaxwell 08-18-2016 04:08 AM

Fuck taxes
Meanwhile if two of your best people and close friends got killed dead in a crash while handling business operations you might lose the fire for that business as well
Not to mention look it at what happened to everyone else in AC back then

Of course was trump extremely over leveraged like a maniac.. . Yes :)
But still I don't know I could say anyone human would end up any better in any business their friends got killed fucking with no matter what money amounts

Another thing too
Trump used bankruptcy at strategic times if you look into what all happened
Take full advantage of the law

When it comes to not paying certain people that was fucked up ... wasn't too good using cheap wall and floor coverings in high end apartments either
But I don't think he's nearly as stupid or wrong as some fools say
One guy was complaining about the skating rink saying he agreed to do work Pro Bono because he didn't know that meant free
Seriously.
Waaaaah I didn't get paid
Well you agreed to something without asking what it meant . . Business is business
One time I accidentally fucked around and sold a sixty pound server machine for $.42 on ebay
My mistake
Motherfucker got a free computer I paid $50 to sell to him
Oh well and too bad
But I didn't go around saying how awful the buyer was

Sounds to me as if they must've felt they wouldn't get the thirty... local governments are worse than the fkn feds - if they thought they could get thirty they'd get it - unless of course someone made a "deal" - if you know what I mean :D

Fuck the IRS.. One time they changed some "regulations" and applied them to Trump RETROACTIVELY. That's like being pushed off of a bicycle while having sex in a bathtub. It makes no fucking sense.

A. They write a huge mountain of impossible to decipher regulations / codes / whatever else which make even a credit card contract look simple in comparison.
There's no WAY to be sure you're in compliance and they've admitted that even THEY don't understand it all

B. They just make something up to fuck you over if they don't like what you paid. A good example of this is AMT

C. They like to count things as income which aren't income.

D. They don't care about the actual statutes at all

E. They run around acting as an enforcement agency with total impunity which is extremely illegal

F. FUCK THE IRS

G. The IRS can jail you even when there is no law or rule you've broken. Schiff is a good example of that. They never DID come up with a law he actually broke and he was sentenced to years in prison because fuck everyone

H. Income is everything and everything is income even though it's not according to them

I. I hate the IRS

private anything is usually superior to public...

where do "rich" send their kids? private or public schools? why is that? cause private schools are worse? :1orglaugh :error
same with roads, toll roads are way better maintained than public ones...
mail/package delivery: fedex is 10x more reliable than USPS...
public gyms are usually shitholes, private ones are not...
etc

I can't think of any situation where "public" is better than "private"... can you?

that's a twisted way of looking at it... imagine YOU are in debt... why would that be?
cause you spent too much, that's how... no one ever says: "I'm in debt cause I don't earn enough"... obviously, you are in debt, cause you spend too much....

I disagree. I take every possible loophole I can. Everyone should. And there is nothing wrong with it.

The problem is Trump most likely goes overboard.

How do you figure that? I see zero evidence to conclude that he goes any more overboard than the scheme you used to brag about of taking your wife to lunch and writing it off as a business expense...

but of course when you do it, you are clever at stretching the tax law, when someone else does it, they are going "overboard", eh?

I am not stretching anything. There is a difference between a legitimate business expense and stretching the tax law. There is a difference between "taking my wife out to lunch" and "a strategy meeting with my business partner". Any time I have a meal with someone in the industry, someone I do business with, or even someone I want to do business with... It's a write off.

The problem with Trump is he makes millions of dollars a year, and then gets a tax break aimed at families making a lot less: Donald Trump Keeps Collecting a Tax Break Aimed at New Yorkers Who Make Under $500,000

But that is not even the issue... Trump cannot release his tax forms because they will show the exact status of all of his businesses. He is trying to project an image of "winning" while on paper with the IRS he is trying to make his business look like it's not making any money at all. We know he is making money somewhere along the line, but when we see the truth about how it's done it will make him look horrible. It's like sausages - Everyone likes them, but no one wants to see how they are made.

Trump can release his tax forms at any time. But he won't. Because if he does it will news fodder until election day.

would you release your tax returns? I wouldn't, and I don't blame him for doing the same... there is no possible good that could come out of it... every idiot out there will analyze every single line 20 times in detail...

then there will be 100 smear stories like "Trump took deduction aimed at xxxx".... who gives a shit what the deduction is "aimed at", it's a legal deduction so why not take it?

Most did indeed release it, but I'm not 100% sure it's "all" like you claimed... however, most candidates are politicians, so there is nothing potentially interesting in their tax returns... their salary, home mortgage deduction and few other minor things... so there is no reason to not release them...

vs

a businessman whose tax return likely spans 100s of pages filled with various deductions, loop holes, etc that will be analyzed by everyone in detail...

There is nothing on my tax forms that is remotely interesting to anyone. It's all pretty standard.

But with Trump it would be a vastly different story. His tax returns are complicated; Everything is set up to minimize the tax liability. On one hand there is nothing wrong with this - most of us do this to a degree. But Trump takes it to the extreme. And in the event he releases his tax forms and every one seems he really isn't paying taxes, it will look horrible. And Trump knows he can load his taxes up with a bunch of bullshit that will take a team of people at the IRS years to figure out.

And your point is?

There is no doubt that the Clintons have made money. A former President always makes bank after he (she?) leaves office. This is a given. But in the case of the Clintons, there is TWO of them.... You have a former President and then a former Senator and Secretary Of State. There is no doubt they will make money.

There seems to be a lot of interest in how much money the Clintons make. Why is that? Did we do this with Reagan? Kennedy?

no point really... just seems a bit excessive... especially for someone who claims to understand middle class values/problems/etc... don't most presidents usually have more modest income?

This is the problem with some people.

A person can be angry at someone's actions and still no approve of other people's actions. If I criticize Trump, that does not mean I am endorsing Clinton of forgiving her for the things she has done. It also doesn't mean I automatically agree with everything Obama has done. It is simply a criticism of Trump (or Christie).

George W Bush has difficulty reading children's books out loud. Who is going to pay him for commencement speech or any other public appearance? Besides, everyone hates the guy.
So whats wrong with Clintons doing 20 million? Perhaps there is something wrong with W and that's why he is making 5% of what he could have been making.
