By themselves, they don't fit the definition of a firearm.

The President is only the enforcer of the law. Congress makes the law.

But it remains to be seen if we actually get 'A LAW' concerning the bump stocks.
And if we do, I wonder what the trade-off will be in the actual legislation.

The only reason the NRA is taking the position they have is to be on top of it to control the outcome for they fear much worse legislation for them is possible and likely. It's the cheap and quick option for them and keeps their lobby forces intact.

Take away the bump stock and the same attack can happen just as easily.. Hell the guns shown in the pictures didn't even have bump stocks. In fact, it's not even been confirmed he used bumpstock but rather he just had a few guns out of the 40 which had them..

Bumpstock should be illegal, but it's obvious low hanging fruit that republitards & NRA are willing to cave on in order to stop any meaningful gun laws.

The Obama stocks allowed him to fire at a high rate before someone came to stop him. He had mere minutes to fire and he maximized that time by using the Obama stocks. Take away the Obama stocks and he is limited to individual pulls of the trigger with his finger.

Well, the congress had (258 -3) days and counting, to have reversed Obama's decision AND ACTED IF THEY THOUGHT IT WAS IMPORTANT. Obviously, no one cared until after the fact.

When I was a kid, the NRA did shooting classes and safety classes with rifles. Then they sold us shooting gloves and yellow tinted shooting glasses. Somewhere along the line they changed how we think about firearms - about assault rifles. They tell us that these riles are "semi automatic rifles". Bullshit. A "semi automatic rifle" is a long rifle, the kind you hunt with. An AR15 is an assault rifle. It's an assault rifle that is semi automatic.
