Of course we should care. I have been saying for a long time we should cut all ties with the Saudis. This is just another reason to add to the list. That guy was a permanent resident of the US and working for a US company. When journalist and others go overseas to work it is with the understanding that the US government will protect them. If we do nothing, we are basically telling other countries you can kill our people and so long as you have something we want, we won't care.

Let’s let Europe lead the world for a while. China can prop up dictators for resources as well as we can so we have to shut up and take it once in a while.

The US has jumped the shark and a new world order is stepping up. The best part of that is being ina crumbling empire is a pretty good spot. It takes a hundred years or so to drop out of the top ten so we are fine for a long while to come.
