So she's pleading guilty of conspiring against the U.S. since 2015 and acting as an agent of a foreign government.

Imprisoned Russian agent Maria Butina pleads guilty of conspiring against the U.S.

Lawyers for accused Russian agent Maria Butina and prosecutors overseeing the case asked a federal judge on Monday to schedule a court hearing this week so that she can change her plea, according to a joint court filing.
The filing comes after Butina's attorney and prosecutors revealed last month they were actively in talks to settle the case. Butina had previously pleaded not guilty to charges that she was acting as an agent of the Russian government and conspiring to take actions on Russia's behalf.

If I have to guess, and I do...
I kinda think they were padding the donations of regular Americans with or without their knowledge. They do it that way with normal campaign contributions where a employer donates 2k in the name of each of their employee's.
That is how it can be unnoticed to some extent. Breaking them up in little pieces.

Why is everyone calling Butina a hot girl? Maybe to the fat, middle aged NRA schlubs she's hot, but she's a butterface by Russian standards of beauty.

Point well taken except, most times, the US have been a easy unjust target for those claims in self promotion when things are not going well for Putin and those like him.

So these 'allegations' come with some level of proof, whereas those that Putin have used come only as allegations in self promotion.

But I suggest to you, that all of us as a people should be against corruption of our leaders and those yielding power and influence with money are against all of our common interest.

If the political system here in the states has taught us anything only some recognize is that they keep you fighting each other while they continue to do their deeds unnoticed.

Also remember the reports Obama had to implement new security measures when he found out sensitive documents were being taken out of secure holding by the transition team.

Then remember that several Russians were "disappeared" in February 2017, literally abducted from meetings by Putin's goons, with bags over their heads.

And then we have the several Russians turning up dead around the world, falling from balconies, being discovered in hotel rooms with severe head injuries after "falling down drunk", apparently ten times or more.

Some people are still thinking this was all about a dodgy business deal Trump tried to hide, but this is a genuine spy story where a foreign government likely breached the highest office of the United States and installed their candidate. There's no telling what damage he and his family of criminals have done since they had access to sensitive information.

Alexander Torshin is also the guy who brought the president of the National Rifle Association, David Keene, as an honoured guest at the conference of the Right to Bear Arms, a gun lobby in Moscow.
