spam me with content producers who allow us to use the content for hosted galleries, tours, and banners.

Before the content providers get here, I'd just like to know why so many don't allow use on hosted galleries. It's just like an individual webmaster making a gallery and submitting it to the TGP's, but without the submitting part, right? That always confused me. I can understand not wanting it in leased galleries, but I just can't understand why hosted galleries are different from TGP galleries and submitting them myself. They'll still be listed on the TGP's. *boggle*

A content provider cannot disallow the use of the legally licensed content on hosted galleries as long as you host them on the domains you licensed the images for.
What you cannot do is give content to affiliates so that they use it to make their own galleries.

As a content provider who doesn't allow hosted gallerys generally, I'd like to share my insight and why I feel this. Everyone is different and everyone has different reasons.

When a TGP owner or reviewer is looking over galleries, they list them based on if the content is fresh or oversatureted/overused/water. If said content is used in hosted galleries, there's a higher chance that the webmaster is goign to remember the content set if they've recently been checking hosted galleries and are going to consider it stale even if they never used it or if no other TGP has ever used the hosted gallery. It's still going to be fresh in their mind that they've seen this content. My :2 cents:

Not only that, but use of content for hosted galleries essentially lowers the value of the content for anyone who purchases it, as it makes it much more likely that surfers have already seen it. Would you want to pay full price for a content set you know was already on every single tgp out there? "Nuff said/

But I have recently started tol check the license carefully to be sure hosted galleries are allowed. If not, I don't buy. I want all my licenses to allow the same things so that I don't accidentally use something for the wrong thing someday. I can't check every single license every single time I want to use a set. I work with sometimes 50 sets a day and checking all those licenses would take about a couple of hours! LOL :)

Im not a conten provider exactly, but maybe I can help you. I run my own website of myself and I have tons of content. Id let you use some for pics, banners, tour pages, etc. if your interested. My website is in my sig. I am in the process of redoing it though. Manye people suggested that I make it appear more amateur.

Is it really worth it to buy exclusive content if you're just using it for galleries and free sites? I mean, most people charge at least $300 to $500 per set for exclusive stuff and some charge alot more. Can one expect to make a profit from that or is exclusive really only a valid option for paysite owners?

That's a great question actually.

Paysite owners of course will benefit more from exclusive content but everyday webmasters can too. If the surfer likes the content they may be more apt to click through because he has not seen the same content many times in the past.

I know several people who are big in the TGP's and they either make deals to get the content before it is released to the rest of the affiliates or they buy exclusive.

Why not, first you will not always pay 300.00 per set. You can find it for less if you shop around.

Second you can do what you want with it and only you have it. So you never have a problem getting listed, it being saturated, ect.

Third, it is shot to your spec so you can do better stuff.

Fourth you could in theory piggyback on a shoot for a set, or go into halves with someone ect to lower costs.

Downside is if your promoting someone you may be misleading the buyers.
