Bloggers, feed on THIS...

RSS is the shit.

It's probably the hottest acronym to come along since VHS.

For the unfamiliar, RSS is a protocol for providing a continuous, formatted feed of a site's content to a "reader" client. Most blogs have RSS "output" capability built in.

For the Webmaster, it means having a single-point source that could automatically update the content on thousands of pages, whenever you add to or edit the primary site.

For affiliate programs, it means no more having to make your affiliates come to the site for banners, images, or any form of content. Affiliates only need to know what feeds you offer -- think about it, banners, fully-formatted tgp pages, program news, anything you want. It's like POTD on steroids. Your affiliates will feed and feed and feed.

There are a number of different ways to get your RSS feed parsed out to its proper form on a web page. These range from server-side includes using PHP or ASP, etc. to proprietary decoders. In good hands, it works great. For example: BLOGGING.

So, where do we go from here?

That is happening anyway. The biggest programs have, at most a few hundred hosted galleries. Tell me TGPs don't all look like they were spit out by the same Wonka machine. This introduces a new layer of customization, which will increase design diversity, though based on identical "core data" -- :winkwink:

I will. Also I should mention that these tickers will display JUST FINE inside your blog posts. As some of you may now, the PHP wrapper will sometimes interfere. Not here.

looks good, but how does this benefit the blog? looking at the source code one can't even see the links- which is the whole point of sydicating from SE perspective...

For SE go this route. The ticker is for people with EYES -- for the spider, I recommend:
