AFFILIATES ONLY! What makes a good affiliate program. what could make it better.

AFFILIATES ONLY.

Sponsors spam your shit somewhere else. We know all of you think you have the best program so no need to post.

I am tossing around the idea of putting together an affiliate program.

AFFILIATES what would you want in an affiliate program.

There is the obvious of being paid, good quality content to advertise, tools to promote it, getting paid well, etc... but what in your opinion would make the best affiliate program out there ?

Nismo 07-03-2006 10:54 AM

-Weekly payouts with epass, wires, check as options
-Fresh, exclusive content with hot models
-$35-$40 pps with incentives for whales

CIVMatt 07-03-2006 10:56 AM

Dont we always have this thread on the front page?

i dont know, not something i was looking for before. Since you seem to have read a few similar post to this, care to post the most common things that affiliates were looking for ?

clickhappy 07-03-2006 11:01 AM

hi will, i actually joined your clickcash thing a year ago from all the numbers you were posting, but it was so confusing to me I never did anything with it. Dont know if that helps you.

I hear people asking for epass a lot. I think that would be a requirement. thanks.

I am not a big fan of prizes and shit, wouldn't you guys rather more per signup instead of more chances to win shit ?

this is totally different. teamclickcash is mainly a resource site for people using clickcash. I am limited on what i can offer since i do not own clickcash.

What i am asking here is if i started a membership site, like the millions of them out there :winkwink: what would it take to make it the best. Unlike most of the sponsor owners who shit on their affiliates, being an affiliate myself i know WE know what works the best. I have some ideas in mind but wanted feedback from other affiliates.

spacedog 07-03-2006 11:05 AM

No traffic leaks..
No saturation..
No url on promo..
fhg on different domain than the site being promoted.. preferably a unique domain. I hate when I am linking a fhg to promote a paysite & the fhg is on the same domain,

scottybuzz 07-03-2006 11:05 AM

nats seems to be very popular so i would think that would be a must.

Free access for all affiliates who send over 20 joins a month ? might as well let the person be a free member of what t hey are advertising ;)

:thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

Personally I can't stand free prizes, to me it's a scam. Take money out of the pockets of the people who make the site the most money so they can pay for that shit, then 1 person wins the prize, all the other affiliates lost money. but they sponsor is happy, they get great exposure for doing it, at your expense.

MyNameIsNobody 07-03-2006 11:33 AM

Does webmasters actually wanna be members themselfs? I never even thougt about joining.. ever...

will76 07-03-2006 12:06 PM

amazing how much feed back this is generating. :Oh crap

CC 07-03-2006 05:31 PM

This goes without saying, but something that actually CONVERTS!!! Surprisingly enough, this is quite rare.

what about an affiliate feedback forum where affiliates can ask for certain tools, or niched sites and the sponsor actually LISTENS to them and makes it?

will76 07-03-2006 08:18 PM

What about showing how much the top100 affiliates make. Wouldnt name names of course so no one had to worry about people knowing how much they make. would that be a plus for a site ? not many show this info. I am curious personally how much the top guy is making f or each program. I bet some would surprise people, some being a lot less then they thought some a lot more then they thought.

Buncha 07-04-2006 01:08 AM

Here's what I'd like from an affiliate program:

When it comes to webmaster tools, I prefer quality over quantity.

I'd like to see some good FHG. Descriptions available in at least 2 sizes (short and long). Spell check and use proper grammer. Don't select random pictures/videos. I hate FHG with bad pics all out of order. No vidcaps. Use digital stills. Hand crop the thumbs. Make them easy to export with various options. And I don't want to see the exact same 20 pics used over and over again on 50 different templates.

A good selection of banners in various sizes. Some softcore banners. And some banners with small file sizes. Only use the site's name, not the URL.

Good PPS payouts on console-free options. I also like the idea of combined PPS/Rev payments. Something like $20 PPS + 25% of all rebills. Weekly payouts with no minimum (or low min).

I like hosted blogs/TGPs with affiliate codes. If you have a hosted blog, update it regularly.

That's all I can think of right now.

rss, xml feeds for blogs

Buncha 07-04-2006 01:30 AM

One more thing I like is when sponsors offer their affiliates premium webmaster tools. For example, I've seen some programs offering subscriptions to DreamSubmitter and Chameleon.

After using some different tools in the past, I'd given up on galleries. But a sponsor offered to pay for Chameleon, so I figured I might as well give it a try. Now I've gotten back into gallery submissions.

You know the attitude of some site owners here would reply to your post by saying " what the fuck you want us to hold your hand and do all the work for you ? " lol. But i agree with you. In your case that worked out perfect giving you something for free to use got you back into that type of advertising and i am sure that resulted in making that sponsor more money.

No kiddin, thinking of signup pages... How many sites out there use the same damn signup page for years and never change it or give you others to choose from.

People really underestimate how important the signup page is. It IS the most important page of the site. You can fuck up a signup page soo many ways.

Michael2017K 07-04-2006 08:13 AM

1. Great resources.

2. Affiliate forum.

3. At least a weekly update from the owner. I like to know how things are going and it assures me there are people there.

4. Top 100 affiliate incomes like you said, it's good for those who are curious and great for people who want to compete and get to the top!

5. Simplicity. Hard to explain this one... but I like to get right to promoting. I don't want to have to click a bunch of shit to get to my links.

6. Weekly epassporte and/or check payments.

I agree with your take on the contest idea, it's ridiculous. Keep it at a business level. Look at ARS, they have a damn department store! :P

in addition to, or emphasizing what was already said

RSS feeds for blogs that have at least one large image and a good paragraph of text.

epasspore payments

multiple payment options for joins. meaning, use NATS first off. The go beyond the typical epoch / ccbill and add in the alternate pay methods. texting payments in, etc.

a closed program to fight saturation. make it invite or application only

vanillaice 07-04-2006 08:48 AM

Unique Niches. Even combos of niches.. Blondes with small tits... Blondes with large tits.. something like that (just examples, I don't know how those would sell).

Also, stick to the niche you're promoting on your tour. If Granny site, don't put 40 year old ladies on it. If Chubby, don't put 400lb girls.. etc. Nothing worse than a sponsor who doesn't know the niche he's promoting.

Yngwie 07-04-2006 08:54 AM

- Free content to use to promote (not crappy stuff)

- Multiple linking options (like being able to link straight to the join page)

- A few different tours per site which have been tested and known to convert traffic

- A way to have it so there are different link codes for console free, 1 console, 2 consoles etc.. Would give webmasters more options. May seem useless to some, but still would be a cool idea. The payouts would be kind of like

console free - $25 per signup
1 console - $27.50 per signup
2 consoles - $30 per signup
all consoles - $35 per signup

- FHGs for movie and pic galleries with a download link to a zip file for all FHGs or just the ones you want. (this is for those that don't always want to make their own galleries so they would just use the FHG, swap the content and upload it to their server

- Free hosting

- Promo text that has been tested and is known to make people click. Not just run of the mill shit like you see around in many affiliate programs.

- Thourough description of each site so the webmaster can use that for promotion.

there's more, but my brain is still asleep since I just got up lol

invite only idea is interesting. Funny most owners whore on here 24/7 an invite only would be a nice change of pace.. Kinda what I am doing with TCC for the time being. But when you said this it made me think about this concept more....

instead of excluding people and making it arbitrary, what if you let *most* people in BUT if they couldn't maintain say 5 sales a month or some min level of sales, they are out.

What that be a good idea or bad ?
