I hope to have one the 1st day it is available. :)

Angry Jew Cat - Banned for Life 02-06-2007 01:00 AM

i'm holding out for a new phone until the iphone release, totally...

Semi-Retired-Dave 02-06-2007 01:03 AM

Would you guys buy stock in Apple before the launch of the Iphone?

Jakke PNG 02-06-2007 01:05 AM

Nah, I'd rather not buy old technology. The next phone I'll get atleast as 3G in it. iPhone is a status-symbol really, a goodlooking phone that has a few crucial features missing.

KingK7 02-06-2007 01:07 AM

I am waiting for the N95 to come out, iPhone looks cool, but it just does not have all the technology I want.

Semi-Retired-Dave 02-06-2007 01:09 AM

Here is a closer look for those who haven't seen it.

I'll have to look into it.

I bought A LOT of Apple stock back when it was like 27$...I'm holding till at least 100$.

The iPhone will be cool if they can keep it as simple as the iPod. I have a Treo now and it is way too complex for my bird brain.

ThreeDeviants 02-06-2007 01:17 AM

Ya, already planning on jumping carriers when the iPhone comes out. I'm not usually a mac os lover, but the phone itself seems to have enough spiffy's in it to keep me interested. I'm pretty excited about a phone that has that much built in storage capacity... I keep losing the sd cards out of my current pda phone. Will be nice not to have to worry about that anymore. That and not sweating about a stylus will be nice as well.

what features would you add?

Snake Doctor 02-06-2007 01:22 AM

Does it have all the features of a common smartphone/PDA? Or is it just a combo ipod/cell phone?

That may happen soon. They had an awesome fiscal 1st qtr. 2nd qtr should be down a bit but an overall improvement over previous years. 3rd quarter the iphone comes out and they are hoping for a 2% market share in a year. I think they will exceed that.

Apple has a bright future. i do not think they will ever get ahead of M$ but with kids these days growing up with an ipod the chances of future Mac sales are bright. Brand association goes a long way.

It has more features. And for Blackberry users that have to pay for email packages you can get a free yahoo push acct which should save you $$. The only hinderance I see is cingular's edge speed browsing. Sprint is faster but then on a sprint smart phone you get a crappy browser. iPhone works on a full version of the safari browser.

bobby666 02-06-2007 01:34 AM

as an imac user, ipod and macmini owner i will buy that gadget asap

Modern connectivity, ie. 3G. The most important feature that's missing, won't even bother to look at the others as this is something that I can't understand why apple left it out.

Viper2K1 02-06-2007 01:41 AM

I think i'm gonna get one when it comes out

I'm not a real phone-junky, my current cellphone is like 6 years old
my current one is already tiny, light and stylish I never had the urge to buy a newer one.
But the battery ain't what it used to be anymore ... so I'm about to pick the phone i'll be using for the next 5-6 years :)

I dunno, but that demo doesn't get me that exited about the phone, plus you had better plan on the first one being buggy as hell...I bet the iPhone II will be a knockout though.

Nice buy, Congrats.

lorine 02-06-2007 03:18 AM

It looks like an interesting phone but we`ll have to wait for it. I`m sure there is a long waiting list :)

I actually watched all that, pretty interesting if it's going to work as good as it sounds like it will.

madawgz 02-06-2007 09:41 AM

i might get one, depends on my flow :)

GTS Mark 02-06-2007 09:57 AM

Hmmm I doubt it, I just got the Blackberry Pearl and I love it.

I have a nice Ipod video in my jacket pocket if i want to listen to music.

Im happy with my Q. Beinng in the tech business for so long i learned a very very important thing, let everyone else beat their heads against the wall with all the new toys, so you can buy the next generation that works like it should.

Fap 02-06-2007 10:49 AM

Pshh $500 is a lot for a phone. And i definitly dont want 1st generation, it will have too many bugs but i do plan on buying one eventually

Peaches 02-06-2007 11:23 AM

Once I get out of school, the Iphone could easily be my main computer. I'm looking forward to it :)

drjones 02-06-2007 12:08 PM

I love Apple products.. but this is really a castrated PDA.

The real killer for me is that its not open for developers. Theyre trying to tell me its really a mobile computer, but wont allow developers to write 3rd part applications. They will license certain partners, I'm sure, to develop applications but Apple will have full control of distribution through iTunes.. meaning they get a cut of every app approved and sold. This also allows them to prevent things like VOIP, and Instant messaging.

Its cool and all, but unless they open the platform I dont think I'll be buying one. Hopefully other phone manufacturers take notes on how to actually make a usable phone though..

Andiz 02-06-2007 12:12 PM

I won't .........it's just a overpriced status symbol.

I'm happy with my current smartphone

Project-Shadow 02-06-2007 12:13 PM

It doesn't have 3g and has a rather poor camera.. therefore no I'm staying as far away from it as possible. Poor form apple.

drjones 02-06-2007 12:13 PM

That being said.. since it will probably be a very popular phone, maybe I can justify it and get work to buy a few, since we always have the need to demo Xobile on the latest and greatest phones;)

seeric 02-06-2007 12:14 PM

im gonna wait to see how many compliants are logged about the battery life with all that functionality that battery prob wont last long.

i really want it, but i am not buying another phone that i'll carry around half a day with no battery life left

KustomKowgurl 02-06-2007 12:18 PM

I'm a huge fan of all things Mac, but I think I'm gonna pass on this one. It's impressive, no doubt, but I do just fine with my current cell phone, my ipod, and my digital camera all stuffed into my purse :) And they were a lot cheaper too.

tASSy 02-06-2007 12:28 PM

i covet the iPhone. it's too bad i just got a Motorola Q. :disgust

Phoenix 02-06-2007 12:31 PM

i will get iphone for shizzle

woj 02-06-2007 12:31 PM

I don't think I'll be getting it... it looks kinda cool, but I'm not 100% convinced it will be functional... the touch screen may not be as "smart" as they claim, etc...

woj 02-06-2007 12:32 PM

plus everyone and their dog will want one, so they will probably be going on ebay for $2k, like playstation 3.. lol

Busty 02-06-2007 12:57 PM

Airek and I were talking about the battery life this weekend, I wonder what that situation is going to be like with some many applications running on it, it would be sick if they put a solar cell on it and you could throw it on the seat of your car to recharge

I am chauncy 02-06-2007 01:01 PM

does nothing more than my verizion XV6700 not to excited by it plus it has no keyboard

Pete-KT 02-06-2007 01:05 PM

i think its too big of a phone
