Do you need to know who is calling before you answer?
 

Was out with some friends and this guy looked at his cell and said he didn't know who it was so he didn't answer it. I assume he is cheating on the girl he was with as how the hell would you know everyone who calls your cell? It struck me as really weird, after I thought about it.

i dont answer my personal cell phone unless i know who it is either, they can always leave me a message if they care enough to talk to me, but then i never check my voicemails either.

Seriously, I don't get a ton either but why bother screening? They might be inviting you to a party.

i look at it this way - someone calls me, he wants to talk

but i also put my cell phone when signing up to affiliate programs etc, they never call (thanks God) but still i know that when someone calls me, it can be something important, even if i dont recognize the number

or maybe its one of my friends who got the number from another friend of mine?

Exactly! and if I have to wait for a message then listen to that and try and figure out who it is etc. I have no patience and I tend to assume it is something cool or fun they are calling about.

I bet people in a committed relationship are more likely to ignore a random call.

I'm one of those people..........most of the time the numbers I don't know are from telemarketers who try to get me to refinance the home I don't yet have (^_^), but when I do answer the call for them is because I'm just bored out of my mind and want to have some fun.......

I never answer unless i recognize the number. If the person really wants to get a hold of me they can leave a message. 95% of the time numbers i don't recognize are just telemarkers anyways. I get them calling several times per day at least. Its very annoying.

I never get telemarketers on my cell.

I always answer even if just a for the chance to yell and someone who can not dial the phone. you never know.

I don't answer my phone unless the person calling has already had their number programmed into my phone. Sometimes I don't even answer it then. I hate talking on the phone.

Well i wasn't talking about my cell. I rarely use it. Only like three people have the number.

I don't need anything from anyone, so if someone is calling me - they want something from me, so they should consider it a privilege talking to me, and if i don't feel like it at the moment - you're shit out of luck.

I think I just realized why I don't like you. You and I are a lot alike...except for the stealing part. I don't do that.

All my friends numbers are saved in my phone, so I know its them calling.

Around here people leave messages when they want something...

If the number is unknown 9 out of 10 times it's some idiot wasting your time, either some telemarketer, some wrong number, etc... the other 1/10 times a message gets left, and I call the person back...

Caller ID on my cell costs $6.95 a month. Not worth it hence I don't have it. I answer all calls.

I don't like cell phones. If im not home, which i am most of the day people can wait to get in contact with me. If i had people bugging me all day i don't see how i could get anything done and it would annoy the piss out of me. I like my alone time.

work phone number during business hours gets answered no matter what .. after work hours .. 90% blocked calls go directly to message unless it is expected .. those who need to reach me after hours have access to the "Bat Phone" which always gets answered ..
