Question about the US elections for non US citizen.
As a non US citizen who would you like to see as the next President of the USA?
|
I think most of the non-Americans would like to see Obama win, but I can't show any data on it :)
|
What are the biggest factors for most of you?

I think it's time for a Change and someone like Obama could be the right person to lead the USA towards a positive change. If I could vote he'd get mine for sure. :thumbsup |
Most of the Canadians that I speak with want Obama to win, but are scared that TheDevil (Hillary) or that nazi (McCain) will win solely because of the oh-so old colour issue.
I don;t give a shit about that buzz word 'change'. I want to see somebody in office other than a fossil and their old ways! Quote:
Wrong! A lot of German folks want anybody but Obama. The seem to have a knack for stay true to their old ways. |

I don't see where he says he doesn't presently feel he's the right person for the job. From what I've gathered, I think he's come to believe (in the last 3 years) that the post doesn't have to be as political as it has been in the past. IMHO, "Experience" isn't so much an issue as the ability to inspire the country right now. I don't see Hill-Dog or McCain bringing much in the way of unifying inspiration with them... just four more years of a divided country. |

I don't see that Obama will unite people anymore than the other two. Democrats will love him, Republicans will hate him. |
As a resident (non citizen) American, Canadian citizen living in the US, I really could give a shit who wins at this point.
All of this years candidates are lack lustre, seem to be the same old same old. I have a feeling McCain will win now that Nader has come in and will split up the Dem vote. Who would I LIKE to see win? Why not Schwarzenegger? Let's repeal the US born law, and get him in office. It's a joke post these days anyway. I have a feeling the Dem fuckups in the house will cause them to lose congress + senate next election which means the Repubs will take control. That means that IF a democrat wins president they will have NO way of passing anything they want and will appear to be a lame duck. So a 1 term president it will be. |
Not sure, as a non-citizen its hard to say, because you cant vote you don't really think about it or at least I don't, I'm sure my choice would be different if I could vote, because I would probably look at the whole picture and take it more seriously.:2 cents:

A few days ago Paul pretty much sounded like he wouldn't run as an independent though. |
Anyone who is not pro-war.

I think that a mark of great leadership potential is not wanting the post or feeling you're ready for the post, but taking the post because you honestly feel you're the best choice for those that you'll lead... and I get the vibe that's where Obama's head is at. Perhaps "Experience" in D.C. is part of the problem. |
Baddog has become quite the racist pig lately. (Maybe he always was and just didn't act like it until recently)
Any thread that has the word Obama in it must set off his board tracker because he always jumps right into them talking about how a black man can't get elected President in 2008. Hey Lloyd, I know when you were growing up the colored people had to drink from different water fountains, but the world has changed, even though you haven't. |

The fact of the matter is, the only reason he is getting any attention is because he is black. |
I'm surprised anyone overseas cares who would be the prez in America. I'm a U.S. citizen and I hardly lose any sleep over who runs the U.K., France, Italy, etc. I'm not even sure I could name them.
Anyhow, as this news story explains, the winner of the U.S. election has already been determined: http://www.theonion.com/content/vide...dentally_leaks :winkwink: |

Still... 2 years is plenty of time for peeps around him to go "wait a minute, bro... we want you, and the people need you, and we can do it - let's make it happen." He might have thought he lacked the experience necessary for the job... for whatever reason, he changed his mind in those 2 years... either he realized he was qualified 2 years later, he realized that the post doesn't require as much as he first thought, or - most likely - some combination of both. It seems perfectly reasonable to me. |

I have not been following US presidential elections, so I don't know. I would like to get educated if someone could be bothered to provide cliff notes on what are the candidates about.
Is there a strict, uncompromising anti war candidate running? |

The fact that you think the ONLY reason he gets any attention, or votes, is because he's black, is the most ridiculous reverse racism fantasy I've ever seen. Oh you poor old white man, nobody is voting for the white men, what's the world come to? :1orglaugh |
The reality is his record and mistruths are about to get exposed and it may not be in time for the primary but come the GE, he is toast.
View on NAFTA given to Canadian Gov't vs what he says in Ohio http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/HTMLTempla...rchive=CTVNews Background about how he was handed the sponsorship of the bills in the state senate his last year as Jones decided to make him a US Senator http://www.houstonpress.com/2008-02-...reamed-at-me/1 Deception on his website saying he was a candidate for US Senator in 2002 when he made his anti war speach to give the impression he was more in the know and responsible. Deception to the vote since he didn't start his campaign until Jan 2003, 3 months after the Iraq vote took place in Oct of 02. http://www.barackobama.com/issues/iraq/ And facts showing he didn't start running until 2003 as evidenced by his own websites articles as tracked down here: http://www.oem.com.mx/diariodexalapa/notas/n597677.htm Thats nothing to say about his championing his chairing of the Sub Committee and never once holding a hearing in the 13 months he has held the chair because he has been to busy on the campaign trail, even though this committee oversees the EU, NATO and its role in Afghanistan, something he outright criticizes and promises to fix! Inexcusable. If your too busy, then give up the chair and remove it from your resume. There is a lot that is going to be coming out in the next while and its going to fry him. Whether its before the DNC convention or the GE in November, his boat will be on the way to the ocean floor. |
