Super Cleanse Diet ?'s and Help!

I started the master cleanse diet yesterday.

http://www.geocities.co.jp/Beautycar..._cleanser.html

not to loose weight, mainly to clean my system out and live more healthy.

I'm supposed to go ten days with no food, just drinking water with Cheyenne pepper, fresh squeezed lemons and maple syrup. and a couple hot peppermint teas a day.

I'm on my second day and freaking going crazy! Has anyone done this before and if so please tell me the hunger pains get better?

It's now a personal quest to reach the ten days! 1.5 days down

By day four it gets much better. Dont do the salt water cleanse its fucking gross.

Hello Sir *waves*

I haven't done the master cleanse, but I know a couple people who have. They both told me that the hunger did subside and that the jacked up water really will tame the hunger pangs.

Mainly though, I just wanted to wish you luck on your personal quest to healthier living. :thumbsup

C_U_Next_Tuesday 03-04-2008 02:00 PM

I used to do it every year...but its been several years since I was able to follow the whole 10 days (hard when you are the mom and wife of 3 big ass serious meat and potato guys)

The hunger subsides after day three or four. I had boundless energy like being on a caffiene high for the first few days.

Good luck. Try not to focus on the fact that you arent eating...focus on how healthy you will feel after giving your body a break and cleanse from all the garbage you put into it.

No shit! found that out this morning, i'll stick to the peppermint tea instead!

Hey Jimmy - I commend you for doing this, but I really don't agree with these sorts of things. There is a reason you eat certain things and to cut them out of your diet can be dangerous. I almost lost a job due to a 'cleanse'. Your body needs carbohydrates to complete synapses in your brain. To deprive yourself of it will cause you to feel 'dumb' or unfocused. This is exactly what happened to me which is why I went on a quest to find out why I was feeling the way I was feeling. Hope you did your research and know what you're doing. There are always two sides to everything... Some people can do them and be fine, some just can't. Please be careful.

Good luck - hope it works for you.
XOXO

See you in Phoenix!

Thanks!

WarChild 03-04-2008 02:20 PM

You're fucking retarded. You're starving your body of nutrition. Think about that.

Socks 03-04-2008 02:27 PM

For once, I think I'm going to have to agree with WarChild. What the fuck are you thinking?

Can't stop eating doughnuts, so you just figure cut out food altogether?

Eat some fucking carrot sticks!

mona 03-04-2008 02:30 PM

The hunger will subside and you'll realize how badly you want to eat just for the heck of it...

Burroughs, S. (1976).

Now I'm *really* laughing at you.. The guy who dreamt this stuff up was higher than I am, and probably looked like this:

The Nail and Screw Diet

Eating handfuls of nails, screws, metal washers is a great way of scraping out the insides of your intestines, and hardening your stomach lining.

(c) Socks MD, 2008

You're better off with this.

umm Retarded, You just go ahead and eat your burgers and french fries everyday Fatso.
there is enough nutrients in the lemon and the maple syrup to keep you going. and thats also the point, to flush your system out.

Has nothing to do with loosing weight. i don;t have an issue with my weight. it's a detox cleanse for your over all well being

Eva PSC 03-04-2008 02:42 PM

i want to do one too.... blessedherbs.com. Anyone has tried that one?

Socks 03-04-2008 02:42 PM

Wouldn't eating a bunch of raw vegetables for a few weeks do the same thing, and be nutritious? Makes more sense to me than to believe some what some random dude thought up in 1976.

See now you're making assumptions, but you don't know. That's the difference between you and me. I KNOW for a fact there isn't enough nutrients in lemon and maple syrup to keep your body healthy. I know this because I am very on top of my diet. I am very much on top of my diet because I train up to 4 hours a day 6 days a week.

See, not only do I know more about taking care of the body than you, I'm probably in much better shape than you, I can probably run circles around you too.

So while I'm out running my 12km, I'll be laughing about you drinking cayan pepper, lemon juice and syrup and thinking you're making yourself more healthy. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

BradM 03-04-2008 02:46 PM

Absolutely insane idea, horridly unhealthy and will cause more damage than good in the long term.

What up JRock?

I did that exact master cleanse two months ago. The first two days are hard, but then it gets easier, I lost 14 lbs in one week, believe it or not, but you have no energy to do anything, work out, or anything else.

I need to do it again, I put on all the weight already.

i'm guessing i'm only going to do it for 7 days, i was gunning for ten

BradM 03-04-2008 03:18 PM

"Jimmy Rock" I know WarChild personally. I've met him, I've seen his body. He works out 4 hours a day. :) He KNOWS what he is talking about.

So do I. And this is stupid. And you're stupid for not seeing it is just insane and bad for you.

Carry on.

Why would I lie? Come up to Vancouver, come on just a couple day's worth of training. You'll understand then.

Maybe retarded was a bit too harsh, it just makes me angry when I see people fall for this ridiculous stuff. Let's put completely aside for second vitamin and mineral requirements, which by the way is nowhere near met by this insane "cleanse" and focus only on macro nutrients.

You realize your body requires carbohydrates, fats and proteins on a daily basis, right?

Do you really, really, really think it's a good to starve your body of those and supply only simple carbohydrates? No, it's silly. No real nutritionalist would tell you otherwise. There's much better ways to eat as a lifestyle for your health and weight than this craziness.

Listen to yourselves.. "After a few days you can surpress the hunger pains". Just think about that, just for a second. Your body is not only talking to you, it's fucking screaming. Listen to it. :2 cents:

Jim_Gunn 03-04-2008 03:27 PM

Warchild (and others) are right, the very idea of that starvation regimen is totally ridiculous. You are going to lose muscle and weaken your immune system. If you want to feel better you should eat a healthy, balanced diet and exercise, specifically weightlifting and some cardio.

If you have no valid points, don't bother replying. You're wrong and it makes you look like a fool to try to poke some kind of "gay joke" when we're telling you this is a dumb move.

Carry on, fool.

Sean 03-04-2008 03:41 PM

the lemonaid diet is a little hard. is this the first time that you have tried to fast

Sean 03-04-2008 03:45 PM

not going to be close to this thread for a short time. if you have a hard time with the mastercleanse, as it can be hard. try to taper off of it into a juice fast for the rest of the time for your first real try. sometimes you really need to be able to gear up for a fast and let your body get used to something like that. check out http://www.juicefasting.org/ and see what you think.

but keep going on it at least today and see how it feels.

what is your regular diet like?

The Valid point is it's good to test your body both physically and mentally, if you can't understand that then

Carry on Fool, checking out WarChilds body

Dude, as soon as you put some food in your stomach your body will turn it into fat because it does not know when you will have your next meal and therefor will store as much of it for later as possible. Eating less food more often is a better way to loose weight. I personally guarantee this is not a good weight loss strategy and that you will in fact put all the weight back on and possibly more if you just go back to what you were doing before.

L-Pink 03-04-2008 04:06 PM

Why do you assume those of us that think you're nuts sit around eating burgers, fries and chocolate donuts?

You kind of have to just give up on a lot of people. To many it's a quasi-religious thing. You can't tell them there's no such thing as a detox diet. No matter how much evidence you provide them they'll never believe it. There are too many testimonials and people doing it... groupthink.. and it fits too neatly into our concept of self punishment for health and our fear of toxins in the modern environ. If people use it to lose weight I don't really care. It does that (if done properly and more thna a couple of days).
I've played around with my body weight and shape while researching diets and exercise regimes.. I've specifically tried to see how fast I can put on 22lbs and how fast I can take it off (about 30 days each way).. I'm not adverse to people crash dieting even though it's harmful. I think it's a good thing that people can become aware of the fact it's easy to lose weight and not be dragged down by other pessimistic fatties and think about what they're putting in their bodies.
But taking a short break from their shitty lifestyle's to "detox" for a week and then go right back to it "cleansed" is total bs and counter productive. 100% of people are better off just living a healthier lifestyle and eating less sugar/fat and more vegetables... but thats long ongoing.. blander.. and less of a mental statement than 7 days of starvation. In our quick fix society, who the hell wants to just eat healthy for the next 30 years when they can go on a 7 day placebo every 6 months?

Let em have it. What the hell do you care... It's darwinism as far as i'm concerned.

Defeceit diets will cause you to store fat. Fact.

Do whatever it is you please and make gay jokes all you want.

Some of you fucks kill me... it will not kill your body to take 10 days out of your whole fucking life to cleanse and fast.

This is not a diet..its a cleanse. The maple syrup has nutrients in it..You are not hurting your body unless you are very unhealthy to begin with.

You should end the cleanse by starting to eat light raw foods such as veggies and fruits, then work up to other things over a couple of days. You will not be craving all the junk you may have been eating before.. you actually crave better foods.

By the same logic it won't kill you to take 10 days out of your life to go on a crack cocaine bender. Therefor it must be healthy and cleansing?

Just what the hell are you cleansing? It's just craziness.

Sorry, but maple syrup does not contain the protein, fat, vitamins or minerals your body requires on a daily basis. You are going to be deprived of some of these and your body is going to need to burn stores of fat and protein for survival. That means you are for sure going to lose muscle mass.

All in the name of some "cleanse". Amazing people, really.

Anyway I'm done. Fast, cleanse, do whatever you want. Enjoy your self doing it.
