hey, YNOT Connor ? read this before you wage a public attack against me?

Connor,

As I stated publicly right after our Vegas summer show, we are forced to move away from the month of July in 2009. Although the beginning of June has always been our ideal time of year, we?ve held it in July solely to minimize proximity with other shows. But when our attendees are literally begging us to move our show to an earlier time, we can?t ignore them ? we MUST listen and act on their feedback.

I contacted LAJ when I saw the Cybernet Expo announcement, hoping that we could figure out a way to work things out since you guys knew we?d be moving from July. Unfortunately the later months suggested by LAJ would not work for us or would pose tremendous challenges because we need sufficient time to produce our 2 winter events (February Conference & Awards).

As you know, my company continues to give Cybernet Expo coverage and promotions regardless of your personal opinion of me (as you?ve openly expressed to others in the past and continue to do).

According to LAJ you stated that I should expect to be personally (and publicly) attacked if we do not decide against our new June dates.

So, the point of this post is to let you (and the community) know that I am still prepared to disregard any personal issues and have our companies figure out a way to work things out.

HELMY,

Who do I talk too about sponsorship of your summer show with the new dates?

dropped9 09-02-2008 03:34 PM

sig spottus?

whatif_3 09-02-2008 04:23 PM

they announced their show first, then your asking them to change their dates? or they are asking you to change yours?

imo people who announce their show first get dibs on the that date, although i can see them getting pissed if you announce yours around that time, because yours is bigger

but its bad form to try to strongarm a company into changing the dates of its show, after its been already announced

OY 09-02-2008 04:23 PM

Hmmmmmm....

June is much better for me as I typically is on vacation in July/August.

This year I missed out on both Xbiz and AVN show during summer months.

I hope you guys can sort it out amicably.

Helmy put your show on the same exact dates as their POS show and put em out of the picture....

Fuck Conner and LAJ , they are afraid put your dates EXACTLY on their show dates ....

Bet you XBIZ show will get more people than the Cybernet thing they call a "Show"

Phoenix 09-02-2008 04:57 PM

heh...ill only go to a show if i know my friends will be there

i could careless whos show it is..or when it is

although finding some business could be a good thing...hmm maybe i need to rethink the shows..lol

RyuLion 09-02-2008 04:57 PM

I'll still go to SF no matter what..

Sands 09-02-2008 05:03 PM

Better idea: buy a shark, and then attach that bad boy to a catapult and launch it toward thine enemies. Flying shark attack. Then you'll get a badass nickname... HELMY the Shark. Do it.

As a Platinum Sponsor for The Atlanta Show, and a future sponsor for both of XBiz's shows, my thoughts are to spend money at the shows that will give me the best ROI.

I don't go to shows to hang out with my "friends", I'm there for new business and to solidify my existing ones. I will sponsor and go to the shows that will provide that.

do both shows in s.f. and work together? that would mean i could go to 2 shows at once in my hometown, so yes i am being selfish.

LOL Competition has at last reared it's ugly head regarding these so called "Adult" Conventions.

Oh my schedualing must be highly competitive these days. What not enough for you guys to have one every month now ya goto fight about how close they are to each other? ROFLMAO!

Adult Conventions must be the very last bastion of money making in the business.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-02-2008 09:02 PM

So the organiser's of these conventions talk nothing but shit about each other behind the scenes as I have said they do time and time again.

And all they want is your money folks.
It's no wonder the lowest common denominator of people get in these shows these days.

I am still waiting for someone to get killed at one by an OD or shooting.

WWC 09-02-2008 09:37 PM

Too many shows....there should be 1 BIG show a year....you should all merge and do 1 HUGE show....you will have more people, be more effective and exciting since everyone will look forward to it :-)
