Regional sports team pride.

You're cheering for an entertainment corporation because you came out of a vagina near it.

Insanity.

I don't get why people are so empty, selfish and transparent to the core. Why people are hell bent on the worship of god money when there are so many things they miss along the way.

I don't get why people love to spend their entire lives building cages for themselves.

...and starbucks.

I am still trying to come to grips with many in this industry (peers) devotion to the following movies and shows:
Scarface
Godfather -any
Casino
Goodfella's
Entourage

Plus full on man love for Pacino and Deniro.

I am leaning towards the whole fuck the system, be rich, lifestyle or something that many dream to obtain. Still not fully clear on it yet, just many really and I mean really envy these movies and show. I do not think they were bad movies, just do not get the whole devotion aspect or following.

Zebra 10-24-2008 05:27 AM

Sports, especially NFL. The only exception in University of Oklahoma football, but only because I live 7 miles from the stadium and my son will be going there in a couple years.

Starbucks. Been in one once, but only because they were selling hot apple cider on a really cold day and I was walking by.

haha almost spot for me its scary.. except for super hero comics i used to like them when i was a kid, now not at all though.

ive got a whole theory about why people like birthday cakes but that's another story

bausch 10-24-2008 05:31 AM

I don't get sports team pride or why people care for a sports team...

I also don't get clubbing or going to the bar.. I don't see the point. I don't dance, I don't drink and I DON'T WANT TO MEET OR TALK TO ANYONE. It's not fun. It's more comfortable to hang out at home where I have a computer and a big screen tv, what's so fun about being in a place where the music is so loud you can hear your ears ringing?

I also don't get why people like to go to Vegas all the time to party? Why is that so popular with young people... Why can't you party in your own town? I don't like to party at all so I just don't care for it. I went there and saw nothing special. Just a bunch of bright lights and every hotel looks the same from the inside... What's so fun about gambling?

Birthday cake is good, not because it's birthday related but because it's food and I'll eat any kind of cake as long as it's good. It can't be the cake you buy at the grocery store, it has to be good cake. I also like ice cream cake. I live to eat.

no i like lots of cakes - i'm talking about the traditional white birthday cake with the white icing and some flowers on it and Happy Birthday Timmy written on it - even when i was a kid at birthday parties I didn't want it. Sickening sweet to me and i don't even know what flavor it was - i guess vanilla.

today people use all kinds of cakes for birthday cakes but when i was a kid you went to the store and that's the birthday cake they made.

great - now i'm dying for a chocolate cake

I too have been in a starbucks a few times. Well technically not that often. I think I was in one in the lobby at the Florida internext, not 100% sure but i got myself some gelato. Then I seem to encounter one starbucks way to often but that is because they took up residence in the middle of Barnes and Nobles bookstore where I live. If I want to check out the magazine section or a few others I must wheel through that area.
I have tried them before in the past out of curiosity, few different locations and never cared for their coffee and placed them on last resort list for it.

The cake has to be made french style like from a french bakery, the make good cakes with nice light cream that's not sickeningly sweet. Any cake from a grocery store will have nasty icing on it. Don't eat cake from the grocery store. If you had a cake from a nice bakery it wouldn't be like that.

Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake Recipe in the World

MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE
1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour (that's plain flour, not self-rising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT! (This can serve 2 if you want to share!)

And why is this most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now
we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the
day and night !!!

Ah run of the mill yellow or white cake with royal icing frosting. Almost like they coat it in a soft sugar jacket that can actually be peeled off. Then hiding inside between the layers was another layer of that frosting or perhaps butter cream frosting also super spiked with sugar. Then some scary ass liquid food coloring icing is used to pipe the names on, which is so potent it will stain a tongue and teeth. Perhaps some hard as rock sugar candy numbers to add to the whole sick sugar overload. Then some plastic toy or something stuck to it along with dripping wax colored spiral candles.

Because of my wife's job, I'm pretty much stuck in a hick city, about 25 miles away from any sanity. I truly don't belong here.

Local Favorites That I despise:

Wearing hunting clothes (year round)
Hunting
Possessing a fleet of non functioning automobiles
Four by fours
Country music
NASCAR
Gong to Walmart for "fun"
Going to church

But..American supermarket birthday cakes are better than British ones simply because the British put this marzipan icing on stuff that is even worse than our store bought birthday cakes. Even when it came to getting my wedding cake ordered from a proper bakery I had to say 'no marzipan icing and for the love of whoever don't make it fruitcake'.

We have a fondant craze over here going on with that sort of crap. Fondant I feel is even worse than marzipan as at least if I recall marzipan has a slight almond flavor to it.

I hate marzipan. With all the German in me I should be okay with it and it is made out of almonds but I just can't stand the taste or texture.

Going out to clubs that you have to wear heels and pay 15 for a beer, would rather go to the local bar if I go out at all.

Entourage

Starbucks (rather have wawa coffee anyday)

Most of the country is Wawa deprived. Every year at Christmas I get my dad a gift card for Wawa loaded with enough for him to get one cup a day on me.
