Who here besides me is old enough to remember when this came out?

The boy and I were watching a Simpson's episode that has a spoof of it, so I had to go find the video to enrich his 80's education.

The wiki, for those who require it. :winkwink:

cherrylula 04-22-2009 07:44 PM

yep I remember. :)

CDSmith 04-22-2009 07:56 PM

Thankfully alzhiemer's hasn't set in with me yet so yes, I do remember that.

Here's the Canuckle version...

You got your Neil Young in there, Geddy Lee, Burton Cummings, Joni Mitchell, Paul Anka, hell even John Candy is in the chorus.

My brother loved that song and actually bought it. I do remember it being on the radio about once an hour.

LeRoy 04-22-2009 07:58 PM

I'm officially old.

Thanks for reminding me Selena.

SomeCreep 04-22-2009 08:03 PM

Just one more reason why the 80's rocked.

stickyfingerz 04-22-2009 08:04 PM

Im obviously stoned that I watched the whole video lol. Yup I remember it, think I was in 5th grade or so.

Ava Knight 04-22-2009 08:08 PM

I remember in elementary school they played "Heal the World" in the mornings.

Now that I look back on it, that's really kind of weird... bunch of kids listening to Michael Jackson every day.......

remember whenever media would talk about it they would mention the fact that "there was a sign on the door.. no ego's through this door" or something like that..
Later we all found out that IT WAS NOTHING BUT EGO'S

Yngwie 04-22-2009 10:33 PM

PornMD 04-22-2009 11:24 PM

Whatever happened to the star-packed charity song? Seems like it became extinct in the 80s.

BTW I was 3 when that came out so I can't remember it right when it came out, but I certainly heard it enough growing up to remember it well!

JustDaveXxx 04-22-2009 11:27 PM

F-U-Jimmy 04-22-2009 11:39 PM

Allformyspace 04-23-2009 04:43 AM

Band Aid November 14th 1984

pornguy 04-23-2009 05:15 AM

Nautilus 04-23-2009 05:27 AM

Wow there were times when singers actually had voices.

Bashcab 04-23-2009 05:36 AM

I'd rather not...but I remember as well.:(

MaDalton 04-23-2009 05:53 AM

yeah, of course. the 2 best lines come from cindy lauper and willie nelson. cindy, because her voice really stands out and Willie because he mumbles so much that i hardly understand him - lol

PurrrsianPussyKat 04-23-2009 05:58 AM

I remember those songs.. wonder if they ever did any good for the less fortunate.

Pornopat 04-23-2009 06:14 AM

I recognise about 80% of the people singing.
So that means only 20% of my memory has gone since then.
