If the ICM's .xxx is approved, it will hurt you alot more than what's happening now with ePassporte!

Over the last 2 days, the ICM has been sending in lots of emails from people who are obviously not part of the industry.

It's time you let your voice be heard! Take 2 minutes of your time and email your objections to the .xxx tld to [email protected].

"I run adult websites and I do NOT want the .xxx tld!" is al you need to put in your mail.

If you think you got hit hard because of this whole epassporte mess, then you'll be out of business for good if the ICM's .xxx tld ever gets the green light.

Dave,

I saw the 24+ votes in favor - looks fishy - dunno.

You sir have done alot to bring attention to this matter.

Mabey post another with your bio, service to our country, etc, etc.

also, would be nice if all the boards, gfy, ynot, etc, etc could mail there members a template email and make it easy and quick for them to post there objections to this..

Thanks Col.

Todd

Oh man cant wait for .org to make all the non profits go to that and take all the porn domains hey? cause thats what its for right? I guess pussy.org is soon going to be a non profit for pornstar vagina rehab! The same day they somehow make you switch your current domains to .xxx they make all the .org's go to charities

Hyperbole much? Now how the the heck do you figure that is true? Can't everyone just ignore the .xxx domain and not register anything? I was unaware that registration of all of one's domains will be mandatory.

stever 09-21-2010 11:38 AM

sent an email
but dont see how they can force anyone to use it even if it is approved

correct, we are so easy sometimes, and that generates a blindness for the real upcoming problem we are facing as a industry.

I urge everyone to spend 2 minutes to secure your business! :thumbsup

The fear is that once .xxx is in place, legislation will be passed making it mandatory for adult materials to be on .xxx domains ONLY.

And those who afraid, always find something to be afraid of.

This thing about .xxx is stupid. With or without, it just one more tld of 100s.

mpahlca 09-21-2010 11:58 AM

Scuba Steve and I were talking brand new idea new extension .jumpdumbfuck its an extension for all of the .xxx fans so they know what to do when it comes time to register

minicivan 09-21-2010 12:02 PM

No one has explained yet how federal government in the USA can mandate that all websites of some type can go under the direct control of a private company. With this stupid thinking, why not worry that tomorrow, all private business will need license from Walmart to operate?

To do it as a truly global measure would be very difficult, probably even impossible.

To require that all U.S.-based adult sites operate on .XXX domains, and those that have a "U.S. nexus" and/or enter into the U.S. stream of commerce to be displayed on .XXX or be blocked from access by Americans, on the other hand... that probably is within the reach of Congressional authority.

Consider this: we do have, and enforce, laws in this country that come equipped with "extraterritorial jurisdiction." It is against the UIGEA to accept online gaming wagers from American citizens, for example. If you don't think citizens of foreign countries can be charged under that law.... well, just ask David Carruthers from BetOnSports about that. :2 cents:

Having said that, fear of .XXX becoming mandatory is not why I'm against ICM's proposal. I just tend to hesitate in offering my support for things that are entirely undefined, as the prospective rules and policies of IFFOR remain, to this day.

Want my support? The first step is telling me precisely what you're asking me to support -- especially when you are asking me to spend $60/domain as part of "supporting" you.

It really doesn't seem like that much to ask, honestly.
