Drinking water out of a garden hose will fuck you up 10X's more than smoking a pound of this effect-less herb. If you are getting high off of Salvia, then you are really not using Salvia - it is either laced, or it is something else entirely. Salvia does nothing.

The best use for it may be to mix it 50/50 with weed, so your joints look and feel more substantial, and will smoke down more evenly. Salvia is definitely much smoother than tobacco in that regard, but it offers no "high" at all.

you smoked it wrong.

first of all you need to do it with a torch lighter because the alkaloids in it break down at extremely high temperatures.

and second, you probably smoked some crap or didn't do it right. get at least 5x extract and smoke a couple good bowls.

like AMP said, it has a potency to really fuck you up.

All of what you and AMP are saying may be true. All I know is that smoking it in a joint, or in a bowl using a regular match or lighter, will yield no results.

Perhaps a torch lighter makes it work, but this is the first I am hearing of it, so maybe you guys have a point. Why is this turning into an argument? It would be cool if it worked, as it is still legal in most areas.

From my experience however, it does not live up to any of the hype.

Salvia is an enhancement drug, its usefulness comes in smoking it while on other hallucinogens.

For example, if you are peaking on shrooms and then smoke some, the effect of the shrooms will be exponentially increased.

get some extract, put it in a bong, use a torch lighter and prepare to enter a whole new dimension. The shit is real bro. You're either doing it wrong or you're using the wrong shit. Salvia is no joke.

The guy in the video (a few posts above) did not use a torch lighter. Although I do not believe he was high at all, but I guess it made for an interesting show segment.

I read up on most things I try, and the write up for the effects of Salvia was almost line-for-line what the guy in that video repeated - which is precisely why I do not believe that clip in the least. The trip is very intense, but very short too (5-10 mins)

I read up on it, and the first time I tried it I was alone, on a bed, in a dark room. I did everything that was suggested and recommended, and... nothing!

I did not try the torch lighter though, as it was ever mentioned, so who knows....

You don't need extract, but it helps. You can still have pretty intense lower level experiences with a lighter, but not matches. You have to take as big a hit as possible and hold it in for as long as possible and when you exhale, if you are still able, take another hit as big as possible and hold that one in as long as possible also. It definitely works.

You can also roll leaves up into a quid and put it in your lip and hold it there for a long while. It's very unpleasant but it works and lasts markedly longer than smoking it and its less intense.

Trips are often very different. People who start smoking it sometimes have a reverse tolerance where it won't do much their first few tries.

When it does work, you can experience cascading colors, seeing beings(often called 'the goddess'), feel like you're in an alternate reality and more.

Besides using a torch ligher/jet flame lighter, you have to hold in the smoke for atleast 20 seconds. For the best trips 20x + works great.

If you've done it right, you will be in another world before you exhale all the smoke.

Thanks for all of the advice, but any drug that requires special mood lighting, no friends, no distractions, and torch lighters, is way too much work, and a bridge too far. I'll just stick with weed and alcohol.
