What the fuck are you on about?? Big deal you've know them since 98, who cares. They owe people money now.

Well, as a processor you get paid first, so if they make money so do you. Not always the case for WMs.

(In general for sites, not specifically saying you process for Cyberage)

i don't ever vouch for anyone anymore. those days are over.

one guy i have vouched for in the last several years. MarkE4A for SEO stuff.

mainly because he is great at what he does and my results with him prove that.

other than that, no one will ever see me vouching for anyone.

From an affiliate perspective I'm noticing that as far as programs go things totally change on average within 3 - 5 years. This seems about the average life of a program in it's initial beneficial form. After that all bets are off. If you look back you'll see a graveyard of once great programs who eventually either died, became scams, or sunk to total irrelevancy. Not surprisingly once their program dies it seems that most owners often try all sorts of ridiculous and desperate things unless they just sell out instead.

Even the best program or person now is a total wildcard after a couple years.

thats why a program with payouts that are unattractive to affiliates will sit and chug along for the lifetime of the brand. programs paying 25-30 dollars PPS with a brand and good retention are lurking in the shadows, but get shit on by the affiliate community because they won't play the big PPS game. there are some out there. they will be there 10 years from now too. sooner or later people are going to realize that they have to play the long term game and dispense with falling for the marketing tactics of opportunistic programs. i know, i've promoted them and pitched them over the last 12 years. it's a vicious cycle.

Not me. I'm done with that. I've been trying to push the small or medium sized guys mainly with fair ccbill or verotel programs (some Nats). They tend to appreciate anyone who sends them clean signups. That's what a partnership is all about. Some of the ones you're speaking of these days well it seems as if they think they are doing you a favor by letting you be in their program unless you run redtube. From past experiences I tend to know what that means and what will typically happen to such a business in due time. Usually I've been right. I only hope that what I send to the good programs helps to keep us both afloat while the others perish.

<advice>

i am saying this part from an affiliate perspective.

if you want to have successful partnerships with programs you must understand that the relationship needs to be EQUALLY profitable.

given that rebills are not what they were 5 years ago, some programs are going to lower PPS to 20-25 dollars. those are the ones i will keep my eye on and promote, because they have a long term goal in mind for the new space.

if the program is not making money, there is no product for anyone to promote.

we as affiliates need to get off the "i have the traffic" horse. those with that mentality now should buy some shit content and just start their own shit program. it takes an army of people to run a solid exclusive program.

remember the money can only come from 3 places for payouts to happen the way they did for 10 years.

the surfer
the webmaster
the program

someone is paying for those high pps. in a large percentage of the current transaction scenario, it's not the surfer anymore. (yes there are exceptions where people are still banging cards like its 2002 again).

so, you have remaining the push and pull to who is going to eat profits to maintain a relationship.

this is where the current lines are being drawn. i hope the remaining people who haven't been gobbled up make the right decisions to help maintain a middle class in the webmaster community.
