Is Comcast Down in the Chicago Area?
Is Comcast down in Chicago, or is their network down somewhere between NY and Chicago?
I am not able to access the Chicago area, using Comcast from the NJ/NY area. Any news on this? |

comcast sucks
 i had them before switching to Verizon FiOS, and ALWAYS had problems

Yesterday in the north east a lot of the channels were not working, mostly HD channels.

24 hours later, and I still can't access one of my Chicago area servers through Comcast.

Maybe Comcast isn't solely the problem.
Does the hosting provider have multiple network routes? Perhaps the hosting company is lying about having more network redundancy than they really have. Has the server changed IP addresses lately? And/or physically been moved? (if it's dedicated, check the uptime - did it go down lately; if it's a virtual / vps, such moves may be done with no notice; ask the provider if anything has been changed / moved). Ron

Thanks for your advice though Ron - your theory was the closest to the actual problem.  |
