It is absolute fucking chaos. But such a thing is to be expected in those types of countries. It is expected when you have a class of people so poor that they have nothing to lose. But he United States of America? No way. That sort of rebellion has been bred of the people, but even if some did get a bright idea or it even looked like some group might get out of line, they would go down like the Branch Davidians in Waco. And you see how well that worked out.

LOL You would say that. Egypt is a very modern country and aside from what racist bigots would have you believe, a very good place to visit.

Millions of tourists go to Egypt every year with no problem and have a great time.

You can make a "mesh network" out of wireless routers/wireless access points. It doesn't scale up very well, but it's an option.

The people who were in Egypt (you know Egypt is a 2nd sea resort by popularity among Russians) say it's a very dirty (as you said) and bad place to visit. For example, I know, I can live like a king for a fuckin' $5K per a week or even two in Turkey, but not in Egypt. Not because their hotels are more expensive, but because it doesn't matter how much you paid - the service will be terrible in any case.

As a Russian I don't need a visa to visit either Egypt or Israel, but you know... I'm not ready to visit both countries, because I heard too many bad opinions on them as resorts.

Well said. Think Jared Loughner types ... unemployed, no future, and hence nothing to lose.

Revolutions are driven by a relatively small fraction of people - currently, the U.S. is still somewhat stable, but the seeds for revolution are being sowed; large-scale poverty and hopelessness...

With that said, most people won't participate in revolution as long as they have "bread and circuses" ... giving out more food stamps and keeping the internet running (ensuring the various entertainment sites, such as YouTube and Facebook stayed up; maybe running with restrictions) would more likely be the approach to quell the anger of the masses.

Also, another problem with shutting down the internet is a lot of infrastructure (water / sewer plants, power utilities, phone companies, etc) depend on it working 24/7 - the days of critical utilities having their own separate wide area networks have gone to the wayside to save money.
