:mad YouTube issues...

I can watch a CBS featured clip and the thing buffers like lightning, but then when I watch an amateur clip about someone's radio controlled helicopter, it buffers like I'm on a 2400 baud modem. Is YouTube engaging in throttling??? Seems to me this is the case.

Anyone else noticing these issues?

My idea is that their products left a lot to be desired, and they never really delivered much value to surfers to begin with. Companies that were previously dependent on licensed content and striving to deliver a top-notch product to consumers realized this a long time ago, and started shooting content for themselves in-house, or hiring the top photographers to shoot it for them exclusively. It was ultimately the companies that continued to maintain their failing business models of solely buying licensed content that have gone by the wayside. The guys that were producing excellent content were never never licensing it for sale on the content brokerage sites, they were selling directly to consumers. It was only shooters that were really big on licensed content who were the ones that were never able to establish themselves with any long-term exclusive content contracts.

Yes, I cant barely use Youtube at all anymore. It buffers forever, watching 5 seconds then starts to buffer again.
I try to avoid it as much as I can.

There are so many possible points where the issue could be that it can be incredibly difficult to diagnose. They do use a CDN which tends to place the most popular videos on servers which are more quickly accessed. The less popular videos have to be retrieved remotely and it's a slower process. But then again maybe it's your router or your ISP too?
