social media and the internet will eventually make the world almost entirely democratic. The internet not only shows the rest of the world first hand what freedom is like living in a democratic society but it allows people to organize easily and plan protests undetected to the last minute.

The younger people / college students want freedom and not dictatorships. The generations and times are changing in these countries and just like falling dominoes, when one country falls it gives confidence to the people in the other countries that they can do it to.

What has started recently and will be played out over the next couple years will be looked back on as equivalent to the berlin wall falling and the end of the cold war was to communism.

Funny that simply because my views differ from yours on a wide range of issues your only amunition against me is to publicly accuse me of those things though. Interesting too is the fact that you tend to throw an argument back on how you think it is in N. America instead of dealing with the actual argument presented, in this case all the information I posted regarding honor killings. I posted it because YOU said that in islamic nations women are not oppressed and are free (even at young ages like 12, 13 etc) to choose to marry whomever they want to marry. I showed via numerous links and sources that that is not quite entirely true. Instead of addressing it and maybe admitting that atrocities like this even exist you chose instead to level further absolutely twisted arguments involving N. American women's right to choice when it comes to abortion.

I knew before I typed my first responses to you in other threads from weeks past that you really weren't worth arguing with, but being I had nothing better to do with my time lately I chose to give it a go anyway. But the time has come to leave you to your complete and utter misinformed ignorance. It's really quite a shame that someone who is obviously as well-spoken as you developed such mindlessly twisted views of the world and how things are in it.

It's not isolated, it's common, happens daily, is part of the religion and even laws. It doesn't happen near like this in any first world Country, period, end of story....

No, women are not oppressed in the United States - and even the areas they might be, the point is that it progresses forward, not backwards.

Yep people kill people all over, but in America they aren't doing in masses under religion and law and it damn sure isn't accepted because of those factors either.
