I guess they figure if they visit some of the larger companies in the business and dangle an NDA in front of them so they can have a "frank" conversation will cut them a few more backroom deals.

.xxx is just another tld. It will never be mandatory, Google will not list it above .com's, no country is going to ban all adult .com's and make us use .xxx.
Above all else the best thing you can do to protect your business is get a trademark for your site, that way if anybody else has .net , .tv , .co .whatever you can take it from them.

In my opinion all Chris is doing is taking a sales job to sell a shitty product to our business. Maybe I'm naive but I don't see the difference between selling .xxx or a horrible billing solution.
