Some questions about submitting to TGP sites!

Hi all, I appended the first question to my other thread about gallery building software (gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1024837) but (a) I'm not sure anyone's gonna see it and (b) I'm an impatient mf!

So here's what I'm wondering:

1. How do TGP sites decide which galleries to reject? ie: do they look for certain criteria to figure out that it's just a FHG

2. Would it be a bad idea for me to reuse templates made by the affiliate sponsors?

3. When you make your own galleries to send to TGPs, are you just grabbing FHG images and repackaging them on your own site? If so, what exactly are you changing, if anything?

I guess I'm just unclear on the whole concept of using FHGs which apparently TGPs don't like, and playing by the TGP sites' rules which I don't really know to begin with.

Thanks for helping out this hopeless noob

Aww come on man!! Everyone's new at some point. I could just proceed with blinders on, but I'd prefer to try and do it the smart way and that means asking people who know.

he's not referring to you being new, he is referring to the fact that it is 2011 and you are asking about TGP's

but if it's what you want to do...

forget about FHG's altogether, download content provided by the sponsor, manually make your own thumbnails (quality is important), and then make your gallery

Hi D-Null, thanks for this. But I've read in some other "how to get traffic" threads that TGPs still work. If that's not true, then what does? (other than search engine traffic)

the problem arises when a sponsor sends out a new email list of fhgs and amazingly, i have 10 identical galleries, for 10 different submitters, on 10 different domains, submitted on that day... you think someone would start at the bottom of the list and work up...or at least change the background color...

Ah, Shemp!! So the other people in this thread apparently think TGPs are useless because it's 2011, and they also sort of imply that the rest of the world agrees. Do you have any response for them?

1) 1st learn the rules for all the places you're gonna submit.
2) Code your own stuff, doesn't have to be visually fancy. Actually this is a classic case where usually 'less is more'.
3) Surf the target TGPs for ideas.
4) SEO your page(s), your meta tags, your code, your image names, etc.
5) Listen to Shemp every place you can find his posts.

sorry there bud, but unless you have some serious connections to traffic or a shit ton of luck, i would just venture into making some tub sites with sponsor provided content. there are a few free tube scripts that you can start out with.

i would believe everything you read online either

Gallery sites can still turn a profit. The problem is most adult webmasters try to jam 50,000 irrelevant links (to the content) in each gallery.

However, this guy is asking about submitting not creating a TGP.

Yeah when I post questions like this it seems like a lot of people misunderstand and think I want to start my own TGP site... which I don't!

Just trying to get traffic to my affiliate sites, that's all.

Read the rules of the TGP you are submitting to and you should be fine. If they decline you then ask politely what you could do to improve your gallery(s) to get accepted. Good luck

TGP can still be good. Just do as people are saying and read the rules.

Build your own galleries. In my experience most of the sponsor created galleries are crappy anyway and won't covert for you and like Shemp says, they have all been seen a million times. If you have an original looking gallery at least it will catch people's eyes. TGP owners like to see something different and will tend to treat you better when you make something different for them and don't just submit the same crap everyone else does.

Build a cash site and look for affiliates, they will do the work for you. you may also want to look into hiring a submitter, if your trying to build your own porn empire.... there is no way you can do it on your own. hire a designer, get a package deal for him to build you a kick ass cash site and advertisments to fill it, alot of affiliates will come and get your content and make thier own galleries.

good luck, it's not the 90's anymore! Hope you didn't get into porn because you thought it would be fun and easy. I spend almost every waking hour either filming or editing, and I also have full time employee's... in hopes that someday it will pay off... haha...heh...

When you say "build a cash site" are you talking about me starting my own affiliate program?? That's a little out of my league - I wouldn't even know where to begin! Or maybe you're saying I should join every program out there and try to refer other webmasters? That I can do.

I'm getting (back) into porn because it's a decent match for my skill set (I was a web designer during the dotcom bubble) and I also live in Korea where my only other real option is to work in the English education biz as a teacher or something. And I don't wanna teach! I'm well aware that porn, like pretty much any other online business, is largely a pain in the ass... but then again most jobs are. :D

not sure if anyone helped answer your question, but since I still run a number of TGPs i thought Id help...

1. How do TGP sites decide which galleries to reject? ie: do they look for certain criteria to figure out that it's just a FHG

it depends on who runs the TGP, but mostly its about content. if the galleries look like shit, have a bunch of banners and ads, they will most likely be denied. for me in particular I like clean galleries, nice images and bigger pictures. as well, I see what the sponsor is. if its one that I push hard, i may deny the gallery.

2. Would it be a bad idea for me to reuse templates made by the affiliate sponsors?

most affiliate programs make shit for templates. make your own and do a lot of testing.

3. When you make your own galleries to send to TGPs, are you just grabbing FHG images and repackaging them on your own site? If so, what exactly are you changing, if anything?

i have a program that will rip FHGs images into my own templates. spend some $$ on some good templates, you will make your money back.

at the end of the day, look at the gallery and think "would I want to join this site based on this content?"
