Is it necessary to have multiple hosting accounts for SEO?
If I have 20 different websites linking to one site, do I need to have them spread out over several different hosting accounts for SEO reasons? How many is enough?
Thanks!! Advice is always appreciated. |

No, but I always put them on their own IP if I'm going to interlink everything.

it might not be a matter of "need" so much as for what is optimal
optimal would be to have many completely unrelated and spread out sites linking to you there is a lot of work involved in doing it right if you think you will be able to fool google though, proxies, clean browsers, etc etc etc ![]() |

![]() Nope. However, make sure you set up all your shit correctly.
1. Different Name Servers 2. Different C-Block IP's 3. A-B-C Linking Strategies 4. Different Registrars 5. Do Not Use Same Analytics Account (yes, people have done this) Good luck fine sire. |

agree with all this, but taking step 5 further, you don't want to use google toolbar either, or chrome for that matter when working on your sites, and of course adsense is impossible too (if mainstream)

it is not an easy task at all to pull off well enough to pass manual review scrutiny if your network ever gets enough traffic to attract attention |

and it is easy to attract attention, just get high rank for any half decent traffic keywords and there will be many webmasters picking apart your site and links, and reporting you if they want your serp position themselves

The c-block is the third number in your IP. Google will presumably devalue links from the same c-block IP.
As for the analytics / adwords / adsense thing: I'm not entirely sure if your links will be devalued because of that. I've never been able to find reliable documentation on the topic. I guess you might as well to be safe.

You do not "need" different hosting accounts, but spreading your domains around on various IPs with different C's definitely helps if you are interlinking.
GotWebHost.com can provide dedicated IPs on different C's with a different nameserver for each IP, or you can use private nameservers. |

In my opinion based on my own trials and errors... No, you do not have to. From my experience, google cares more about the originality and quality of the content on each page and couldn't give one less a fuck if you're linking to yourself.

there is also some truth on needing to hide what you do from google. Contradictory iddn't it? I'll tell you the 2 best reasons to spread out your sites across multiple c classes. reason 1: linktrading on linkspun. Many people will not trade with you OR trade as MUCH with you if all your sites are on the same ip. If I were starting over, I'd put one site per niche per ip. Example, a stockings site, a big tit site, a gay site, a bbw site, a bdsm site etc etc all on one ip - rinse repeat. There are multiple benefits to doing that reason 2: future paid links sales when you have many many sites. that is all
