We should be celebrating and symbolizing the value that is equal to approximately 6.28 ? the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius ? and not to the 3.14'ish ratio of its circumference to its diameter (a largely irrelevant property in geometry).

Actually I find it mazing that the surface area of a sphere (like planet Earth) is

4 pi r^2

where r is the distance to the Center of the Earth.

the surface area of the CIRCLE is only 1 Pi r^2

It's like if you took 4 photos of Earth and added up the area of the 4 circles it equals the surface area of the whole planet... just bizarre in it's simplicity!

I should look into it's derivation one day so I can ponder this platonic mystery!

i.e. 4 surface areas of the CIRCLE = the total ocean + land area!

why EXACTLY 4?

Yes technically, but then you are left with a messy equation.

Why not just use Tau r= (1*6.28) r= 6.28r

so you can simply say Tau r which presents the case and solves it without any written numbers involved.

So what does he want? Instead of using PI in equations, we should all now use (PI / 2)? PI was invented to simplify shit, and he's just confusing it, with hopes people will think he's intelligent.
