Question on CCBill Dead Site Redirects
I think I know the answer to this, but thought opinions would help confirm this.
Say site A is dead and there is a redirect from the ccbill affiliate code in the admin area. Say whatever.com is now whatever-whatever.com Now does this webmasters active code still pay on the new site or domain? Some webmasters that close sites and then open new ones still have the active codes from the old sites, because that unique ccbill id is their account. I suppose if they wanted a new account, they would have to give them another unique number. Not that I would promote them personally, as I think this is shady, but if I have been sending clicks to site A, which is now site B, are these clicks still being counted and/or credited, if it is the same webmaster running the old and new sites? ~thanks

I had this issue before. CCBill said, they can not tell a merchant what url to change to ... go figure. It's pretty popular to have 2 CCBill accounts and ping pong traffic .... You need to watch your sponsors to make sure they are honest.

If the main ID is the same -- and the program has the feature turned on to have the same affiliate ID for all sites on their main ID -- then, yes, you would get credit.
For example, if SpookyCash, for some reason, redirected all CCBill clicks to GothicSluts to the CCBill tour on EroticFandom, then joins on EroticFandom would pay out to the webmaster sending to GothicSluts. Basically, if a CCBill program pays on exits, then you will be paid for that redirect. Otherwise, you are probably getting jacked.

it is one of the major failings of ccbill. as most sites put a destination url in the link code, they are bound to that link. it's a failing of the ccbill system and allows for traffic to be hijacked.
what is really annoying is that ccbill will close a program but still forward traffic through ccbill links for that site, instead of allowing webmasters to set a dead link url. my ccbill has tons of dead programs, but if you have a link still up somewhere, the traffic goes to that dead site or the people who bought out the domain. |

So Amelia and James, that ID acts pretty much as a "catch all" then if it is turned on if I am understanding you correctly... Also it would be amazingly awesome if we, as affiliates had the ability to delete dead programs.

I don't think a redirect means it has to be the same owner, but, if it is the same owner and same master ID and affiliate grouping is turned on, then, yes, that master ID should be a catch all like you said. As an affiliate, I would love to be able to change where I am sending traffic when programs change their join pages or lower percentages (cough, cyberdyke, cough) or any of the other unfortunate shenanigans I've come across with various CCBill sponsors. I try to use jump links a lot of the time, but that is not always possible. Then again, I guess that could be abused in terms of using one program's content to promote another program. Still, I hate wasting traffic.
