any SERVER crashes if over loaded. This might lead to SCRIPTS crashing. Never knew of WP doing this, but even if so, it can be fixed in as long as it takes you to re-upload the files or database. Good luck getting that recovery speed with most (if not all) non-WP CMS

if you don't know what you're doing, it might. Otherwise, is faster than most CMS in the market while being way more powerful than ANY CMS in the market (adult or mainstream). Such power BY DEFAULT is what makes people using 5 dollars servers say "ooooh, it's slow". You can adjust it, tune up and make it roar on cheap servers or use good servers and unleash the beast. So $600 a month for the CMS, with a turn over of $12,000 a month the CMS is costing 5% of T/O.

Nice if a sponsor is turning over $60,000 a month. But still for than a years rental someone would write a custom made CMS.

Using your prices our CMS would be cheaper after 3 months with nothing to ever pay again.

So it's worth less than $10,000.

No I didn't.

If WP can handle any number of domains, sub domains, videos, sets, models, attributes, updates and more. Plus is secure and won't crash, doesn't need to have someone with limited webmastering skills run it. Has technical back up, is installed and tested for you before it's handed over, can be changed to suit the users needs.

Then I guess it's great.

WP is a CMS, the largest in the world. Powering some of the largest content and traffic sites in the world. It's able to do everything you listed, then about 10,000x more things, and keep it fast while doing all that.

But that doesn't make it good for paysites.... actually, it's a pile of shit when it comes to content management. Something could be made for it to make it easier, but it wouldn't be based on any part of the core cms.

Small sites (content wise) do great on it, a site with a large amount of content, would be downgrading by using wordpress.



Your cms sounds fine, you don't need crazy features, it needs to be crazy ass simple. I've worked with every major cms in our Industry, and the one thing I miss is stupid simple!

It can have any feature the user requires, just need programming in. We thought if we write them all in it becomes more confusing, more pricey and less suitable for most sites and webmasters.

I'm expecting the simple version to come in at a price that everyone whose serious should be able to afford. $1500 isn't much for a one off payment for this type of solution.
I use ours everyday and it was originally written to handle the $5 sites, with magic join links.

3000+ sets or videos.
1,000 domains
With revolving banners so each site we wanted to promote would be promoted within the site, the member was viewing. Plus the mother sites.
Managed under one system and content could be on one or every one of the domains.

Speaking basically, we would enter in the details of all the domains, one off job or update as we build. Then as I add content I would import, from our original DB, the details of every scene, models and attributes then decide what site it would be listed on and when.

As the idea of the $5 sites never took off we had a CMS we didn't need and stuck Astral Blue on it. Is it time to change that I wonder and launch $5 sites.

With of course the magic join links for the clowns.

Elevated X is $650 for the first month and $150 a month afterwards, are the prices tied or can be raised lowered in the future? Our CMS at $1500 would be less than the first years payment for Elevated X $2300 for the first year.

See Paul, you know I like you and I really try to avoid joining the herds when it comes to you, but I don't know why you insist looking like a total ignorant. If you try to sell your CMS, just don't be stupid and NEVER, EVER compare it to WP, you'll always lose. And for the record, like The Doc said, WP can do all what you say and then 10000x more. For several reasons:
1) the bad press from some people, an idea propagated by coders who, instead of working with WP are afraid of losing business. I mean, if those guys who are so smart that they could fake a moon landing are using it, I'll assume they know a tad little bit more than a disgruntled coder in a basement.
2) Like The Doc said, it really didn't have a good multimedia handling. UNTIL TODAY . The default is really good though, just that it takes more steps than needed. If you add plugins... well, there's nothing even close. Bar none.
3) People didn't know about all the power of WP until a few months ago, and in adult there were a few of us letting people know what they were missing. Now people is ready.
4) People who is comfortable and already using a CMS won't see the need to change. Plus, changing to WP (or any other CMS) could be a real problem since all existing adult CMS do it almost impossible in order to prevent this.
5) For the same reason people still sign up to paysites even though most of what they're paying for is available for free
6) Because there's a misconception about WP and its "free" status. If you want to run it as a CMS, you'll need to modify it. If you don't know how, then you'll need to pay someone to do it. If you know how, well, it's free (minus your time). The difference is that NOTHING is impossible with WP (at least that I found) and you can do the most crazy idea you could think of, while most adult CMS are restricted to their existing CLOSED SOURCE code. And quite probably, a custom code WP solution will still be cheaper (and light years more powerful) than any existing "off the shelf" CMS
7) WP wasn't really thought for adult, which has its own specifications. NOW IT IS
8) WP is so powerful and evolves so fast that its own power and speed of upgrades are kinda overwhelming for some people who like to live 5-10 years behind.
9) Many people didn't realize that with WP they have a CMS for eternity. And it will only evolve. And you have the support of tens of thousands people in any language 24/7. And by the time I wrote this post, chances are a new improvement in core, or a new plugin, or theme, or enhancement has been added (probably more than one). The day they realize what they're missing, there will be no turning back

With a simple setup, lots of wp content plugins will do wonders.... like a solo girl site, pics and vids only, one after another, that would work perfect.

But major sites, they have all types of unique goodies in them. Like many plugins would give wp hell, key generation is going to create conflicts, scripts wont actually be protected.... then we have all the content matching / categorizing paysites typically do, far past what wp does and would require custom plugins. And that's all before auth methods and content protection, and customizing plugins to death so they work how you need - and not being able to update them once you do.

I love wp, use it on every site I own.... other than paysites.

that's why you should avoid plugins as much as possible. I use them only if what they do is so cool and sophisticated I won't want to build something else AND only if I don't need to edit them to avoid upgrade/update problems.

This being said, keep in mind there are literally INFINITE way to deal with WP. I'm not exaggerating, they're INFINITE. It's imple impossible you'll find something that works in any site that can't be done in WP, it's simple out of logic.

Listen, WP has evolved to a point where basically you could have an output for a database and nothing else, then it would be just queries to that database. You could even remote control most existing CMS, so BY DEFINITION, it's impossible there's something a CMS does that can't be done with WP. You can have content protected in any way you want, you can have it even outside your server, or in any kind of location.

Not sure what do you mean about content matching and categorizing because as a matter of fact I don't know anything close to WP in that aspect, so maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but that is one of the best features of WP. And with the use of custom taxonomies, there's simply no match. I mean: which CMS is able to create as many taxonomies as you want and match them in (again LITERALLY) infinite ways? And all of these is things you do without the need for plugins, let alone using plugins (which, again, I avoid as much as I can). And all of these without considering CROSS NETWORK content match!
