I am not sure how they classify this as a Ponzi scheme. It just makes no sense what they are writing. They just used the money that was in the account when they said all the accounts were seperate and it wasnt. I have never heard of anyone having a problem getting money out of there. They banned my account because one of my friends who had sent me money on there in the past did a chargeback on them and they still sent me my balance. I know a lot of people who cashed out a lot of money from there, in the 6 figure range and never had an issue getting money. Did anyone say they didnt get there money out of there?

It's just the US govt lieing to people. Since you got your money out ok and you know other people who did too then there is no way that this was a ponzi scheme and the owners never skimmed a lot of the money off the top.

Did you bother to read the article or the hundreds of others since black friday hit the poker world? There are tens of thousands of full tilt players who have been unable to get their money out for the last five months. Full Tilt has come forward and stated they do not have the money to satisfy the withdrawal requests. They tried to sell off part of the company to a group of private investors to raise the necessary funds, but the deal fell through.

well, it is there job to skim money. that is how you earn money being the house in poker. It is called Rake. every player knows this. a portion of the pot goes to the house. But I know 100's of people that played on there before it was banned in the US and no one ever got beat on money.

In the articles I've read, that is not what was stated. This is why I was saying that.

I would assume they would owe some players in the US money, the government seized there US domain names.

You are fucking clueless, everyone knows what rake is. They stole tens of millions of dollars. People tried to cash out but there was no money left. You are either really stupid or not reading or listening to what happened here.

They owe tens of thousands of players money, they've admitted they simply don't have it. This isn't some new story, this has been going on for five months. They signed on to sponsor Tom Dwan at the start of the year and featured him in a bunch of commercials, yet they still have a million dollars of his that he's been unable to withdraw from his account. I have no idea what articles you could have been reading, anything about them in the poker world the last five months has been harsh to say the least. As their biggest representative, Phil Ivey severed all ties with them in June and filed a lawsuit against them. He then vowed not to play in any WSOP events until they had paid out all players with pending withdrawal requests as a protest, he didn't play one WSOP event.

I read an article in a NY paper that did not mention them owing millions to players, just the fact that they were using money that was in players accounts for there own good.

To be honest, since they day full tilt shut my account down and i got my money. I have not looked at an internet poker site since. I have a few friends that play pro and I just follow the tournies they enter.

you know how to read wtf man?

anyways, this is a good example to the psychology of online poker players. an incredible ability for self delusion when it comes to their favorite poker sites.

As of March, the company had only $60 million left in its bank accounts while owing around $390 million to gamblers around the world.

Who are your friends that are pros?

You should go back and read again. I didn't call anyone stupid. I based what I said on the article I read, and I did not bitch. Based on the article I read, this is the facts I had. It is very possible the journalists who wrote the article I read had no idea what they were talking about. I never claimed to be a poker journalist. I just stated that I had no issues getting my money back from them, even when my account was suspended and no one I know has ever had any trouble getting money, and I know quite a few people that played on there. As soon as the poker sites got turned off in the US. I stopped paying attention and had no desire to care. Sorry if you were offended by me telling my opinion based on the facts that I had. But I wasn't just talking out of my ass, since that is what you are getting at.

not sure what you thinking, but the way you came across was that everyone here did not know what they were talking about because of your personal experiences and the articleS you said you read.

I was just stating my opinion based on the facts I had. That wasn't meant to come across as everyone else was stupid.

Seems like when I read a little deeper, they were indeed taking money that was meant for players, but the tables were bringing in so much money that the money would have gotten back in there without notice if there was never a black friday. Either that, or they would have just kept on stealing. Now the issue full tilt is having, which others arent, is that they are out of business. They are trying to get there license re-instated to enable them to run there site in countries that are legal, in order to pay back the money the took from players. PokerStars for instance is still alive and well in the EU. Once black friday happened, and when the authorities were going over the #'s. They realized the bottom line was extremely short of what they owed players.
