Would you promote a site using an alternative affiliate system?

Ok, so here goes... We're setting up a new site and are looking to think outside the box and move away from the "standard" paysite setup.

What we're looking at is this...
Wordpress + MagicMembers + MagicAffiliates

Here's why...

1. We want to give as many options as possible to the customers. Ranging from join options, to seamless integration and removal of the obvious split between tour & members area, to customizing profiles to making it as "social" as possible, so on and so forth. Think of it as trying to have a mainstream + social networking + adult pay site feel to it.

2. We currently use nats, but I don't know of a way to make nats work 100% seamlessly with wordpress, which is where magicmembers comes in to play.

3. If we use magicmembers, we won't be able to use nats, which is where magicaffiliate comes in to play.

4. If we stick with Nats, then - as far as I know - our options are really limited to a standardized tour > nats > join > members section type setup, like we have now with our other sites.

The only downside I can think of would be to say the risk of affiliates not being paid... but we face that same downside with nats anyway, and have never had a single, solitary issue with reagrds to paying our affiliates.

So the question is.. would you guys, as affiliates, promote under an alternative affiliate program other than the standard ccbill or nats type setup?

If no, please explain why.

Thanks and we look forward to your replies & input.

no because there are dozens programs using its own payment methods and rules which means that in every moment i have dozen sales that still didn't reach break amount of that sponsors,so it is virtual money that I don't have.as I am concerned, all sales into one ccbill acount

Which is a common concern among alternative affiliate programs alltogether. I know a lot of people who don't promote NATs sites for that very reason, so your reasoning is regarding any non ccbill program, in which you don't promote. Which is completely understandable.

So basically, you're a CCBill-only affiliate. That's fine. Keeps it simple. One can understand that line of thinking, but there are a lot of programs that are non-ccbill programs so you miss out on promoting those sites if you're ccbill-only policy is 100% non-negotiable.

Yes, I understand there have been problems with NATS and other self-run programs not paying, paying late, having pain the ass rules, etc. I get it. That's why one needs to seek out and promote only trusted programs with a good track record in the niche.

We already have our current sites with NATS, so if you're opposed to NATS programs already, you wouldn't be interested in the topic of this thread anyway.

Give me a shout if you don't mind. I think our site might do well on yours and we use ccbill

What exactly does Magicmembers do that you feel won't function with NATS? Thanks!

I promote 3 non-CCBill who I know I can depend on, the rest I've faded away from for one reason or another.

I'm not the type of person who wants to leave $120 somewhere unclaimed once I discover the ratios aren't what I was looking for. I'd be more likely to join a non-CCBill if it had a $50 minimum

NATS programs have the ability to individually set your minimum payout to whatever they would like. You could contact them and inform them that in order to promote them you will need a minimum payout on your account of $5. If they're interested in your traffic, they have the ability to accommodate that request.

Hey VD...
Does magicmembers have affiliate deactivate or shave functions? We were thinking about MM for a new site as well...Just worried about same issues as you guys.

For me, to sign up to a new site with a new system I want to know the cards are not stacked against me as an affiliate. Its not so much the software as it is the user that can be troubling.

Have you seen any sites using MM and their affiliate software?

Unfortunately I don't know many programs that would do that...and it's more annoying when they set their minimums at $150-200...because some programs just start converting like crap and I hate to keep throwing away traffic just to hit the minimum and cash out. I promote a lot of NATS sponsors but right now I'm heading in the direction of promoting more CCBill because it's really nice to be able to get constant combined checks (and that's important right now in a industry full of non-paying sponsors, shitty conversions, etc).

We are using WordPress (tour + members'area) and NATS and it's working very well.
NATS offers a simple WordPress plugin that add NATS link code to all pages: http://wiki.toomuchmedia.com/index.p...rdpress_Plugin
it's not perfect but it's working.

Contact me if you have question

Yeah, we've been working with wordpress + nats since we started with nats... our aim is to go outside the "norm" of separating tours & members areas & content.. in a nuttshell...
